So you're sick of it, yet your buying Ultimate Fantastic Four... okay. :p

Instead of complaining, just don't buy the books. They don't effect you.

Ok, take a handful of these:

and stop wasting money the books you don't like.
    [Level 1 antagonism]
Homer: Ned Flanders, I mock your value system. You also appear foolish to the eyes of others.
Ned: Well howdy, Homer! Thanks for dropping by!
    [Level 2 antagonism]
Homer: Past instances in which I professed to like you, were fraudulent.
Ned: Oh well. I'll just have to try harder. Thanks for dropping by!
    [Maximum hostility factor]
Homer: I engaged in intercourse with your spouse or significant other. Now that's psychiatry!

Ultimates and Ultimate Fantastic Four have been some of the best comic books I've ever read, especially Ultimates. The strength of those two titles more than outweighs any so-called "cons" the Ultimate label may have.

Then why do you spend your money on the Ultimate books? If you hate it so much go buy what you would read if you didn't read UU. There you go problem solved. It's that simple, man.

I don't think him buying the books is the issue he is trying to address. I think he is saying that the UU is annoying him. He still might enjoy it, but he is saying something is annoying him.

I kinda agree. Don't get me wrong I love USM, but something just doesn't seem right to me. It's not true spider-man and never will be. Bendis writes to tpb which really bothers me. Peter doesn't seem to be getting older, which makes me think he is going to be in high school for ever. It seems like they are just stuck in time, but keeping up to date on trends. All this is great, but the character has to start getting older.

I also read every other UU title at its conception. I slowly dropped them all for a similar reason. I felt like UXM lost something soon after the initial writer/artist team left. The ultimates was just too extreme (hank beating his wife, the whole incest thing, and nick fury is an ass). Ultimate FF wasn't bad until the whole multi-universe thing. I guess that is an FF thing though, just not my taste.

No matter how great the UU is it is never going to be the real thing. It will always just be a copied idea given a fresh look. I think that is what I keep falling back onto.

Umm, have you heard about the latest arc, called clone saga? There have been so many bombshells dropped in the last four issues that there is no way to predict how it will end, or what Peter's life will be like after the fallout. Don't let the last couple lame stories scare you away. USM is finally worth buying again.

It seems sort of pointless as the original assumption was that its original purpose was to introduce new readers to the books, yet it hasn't seemed to do that as much as it should of. I can't find too many Ultimate books in grocery stores where they do sell Marvel comics. Not to mention Ultimates comes out in an unreliable fashion. I know regular X-men is convuluted, but Ultimate X-men just doesn't seem to have the same strenght to it. It hasn't lived up to its intended funcion.

I saw them selling the Ultimate X-men CD ROMs next to the new X-men film today. I wanted to tell the family that bought it that it wasn't the true X-men and Collosus wasn't gay.

Bendis has said that he wants to age Peter one year for every 100 or so issues.

this is exactly what i was trying to say, and i dont even buy the comics, my brother does, and he allows me to read them, if i had the choice to buy any of the ultimate universe comics it would probaly only be the Ultimates, FF has slipped out of my intrest alittle bit.

Hate to break it to you... but that's the whole point. It's not supposed to be the exact same characters and exact same stories and universe. It's an alternate universe. Just like the movies aren't the same as the comics.

Actually, for me the problem is that in some cases the characters are too similar to the 616. Specially in Ultimate X-men.
