Default Highway Overpass Collapses in Montreal

    Highway Collapse

At least three vehicles are trapped under a massive black of concrete. no word on how many are dead.

    5 people in critical condition.

The road conditions in Montreal are terrible, and it all stems around quick fixes instead of long term problem solving. Trying to save some money now and then they end up paying more later.

Hopefully, this will wake some people up.

I remember someone once saying that Quebec's provincial motto shouls be "Bonjour Quebec, aurevoir tires".

Do you know if everyone has been evacuated from the cars trapped under the slab?

Oh, and only three of the people are in critical condition. The other two are just injured.

Catastrophic failures aren't that common (thankfully).

I wonder when the bridge was last inspected.

Last I heard on the news, the part of the overpass that didn't collapse (yet) is so unstable that the crews can't even start excavating the collapsed part yet until it is either stabilized or brought down. To make matters worse, according to the news, the rescuers have reason to believe that by the time they will be able to lift off enough of the debris to be sure, anyone who would have been caught under the overpass would be dead anyway. A real tradgedy :(
