Captain Americas shield chipped? picture included

Anyone know where he got this chip in his shield? I saw it in new avengers #22

Just an artist mistake, most likely. The Shield is supposed to be nearly completely indestructible save for plot-devicey type things.

Alot of artists like to play around with the shield and make it look more rugged and battle worn.

Someone like Chris Bachalo takes this to the extreme when he draws it having cracks and chipping all over when it's supposed to be indestructible but it's always open to different interpretations.

given that all his stunts with the shield- especially throwing it off multiple targets- would require it to be perfectly aerodynamic, this sort of artistic license does a tiny bit of damage to the story.

Perfectly aerodynamic? No.

Perfectly balanced? Pretty Much.

I frisbee golf, and that requires some real tricky throws. Now, one of my best discs has its aerodynamics shot to hell with massive chunks into it, but it still flies straight. It's all about the person throwing it. How do you think Ult. Hawkeye or Bullseye can kill someone with literally anything as a thrown weapon? Even if his sheild was chipped out, Cap could still throw it pretty darn well.

Of course it is indestructible, so thats a bit of a lark. Just saying Cap could throw any correctly shaped disc object amazingly well.
