CHUD's Devin Faraci (whom I don't get along with, but tend to respect as a reviewer) was very impressed, saying that it's destined to be the best liked superhero movie since Spider-Man 2. High praise indeed, if you ask me.
I AM (still directing) "IRON MAN": Jon Favreau

I'm not sure if this is allowed or not, but preview movie screenings are pretty common, and I just so happened to score a pass to a Tuesday night screening.
Anyway, all I can say is:
Un
****ing
believable.
I don't feel that I'm exaggerating at all when I say it was every bit as good as Spider-Man 2 and X2.
Wow.
Watch it, then watch it again, lather, rinse, and repeat.
The casting was perfect. The special effects were perfect. The blend of action and comedy was perfect.
Amazing, amazing movie. I can't wait to see it many more times.
Oh, and SPOILER!Stan Lee as Hugh HefnerSPOILER! made my day.![]()
Lol. I think that spoiler may be a good enough reason for me to go see it.
There's some truth to the statement that you can't really judge a film (or anything else, really) until you've actually experienced it for yourself. There's always that small minority of folks that either hates a movie that's generally well-liked or loves a movie that's generally despised.
However, judging the quality of a movie and being interested in a movie are two very different things. Trailers, reviews, etc... are all good tools to determine whether you're interested. All the good reviews in the world couldn't make me interested in seeing "Atonement" for example. It's just not my thing.
Do yourself a favor and sit patiently through the end credits... :)
I'll be pissed if he was cut out of the movie. I was really looking forward to seeing his take on Sam Jackson.
Paltrow looks adorable as Pepper.
For some reason, theres alot of actresses that can't really pull off red hair like that.
Looking at Famke's head in The Last Stand, yikes.
And yes, cutting Jackson (and Swank?) would be a huge slap in the face.
You don't relegate Mace Windu to DVD extra material.
I'm beginning to think that Hell is a comic book forum.

Well, I'll see for myself on Friday if Jackson was cut from the movie (I pray he wasn't).
From what I understand, the Nick Fury scene was cut from preview and press screenings to preserve the surprise that it's there.
After the credits, spoilers:end of spoilers
there's a scene where Tony Stark comes home and Nick Fury is waiting for him.
Free your soul and let it fly....
With “Iron Man” in theatres this week, the talent behind the film has been blitzing the press, and CBR spoke again with star Robert Downey, Jr. about his role in the film and what he thinks about spoilers and stupid questions.
