Default Essential Tales of the Zombie

Woooo! What fun! Did anyone else get it? The reprints look great (was the original marvel magazine in B&W?). There's some fun phototext pieces too, including "Introducing Brother Voodoo" written by Tony Isabella. How can you go wrong with that?

They should reprint those B&W horror mags like haunt of horror, they had some really good tales . I liked those with Gabriel the devil hunter , pretty freaky and scary.

Why are all of these Essentials in B&W? I mean they weren't originally in B&W were they? With that said I would love anything with Bro. Voodoo in it but I'm not getting anything in B&W. Not visually appealing to me

Probably because its cheaper but the B&W doesn't bother me all that much.To me anyway,it makes some of them look even better.

Agreed. I held off on ESSENTIALS forever because I didn't want b&w, but once I gave them a chance I loved them. I've been tempted to pick up the ZOMBIE volume, but I'm so backed up with my ESSENTIALS (HOWARD THE DUCK, AVENGERS Vol 1, THOR Vol 2, FANTASTIC FOUR Vol 1, TOMB OF DRACULA Vol 1) and I'm really loving the X-MEN, so it'll probably be awhile before I get it.

When I first got it I thought it was going to be all Simon Garth stories but they had other zombie and voodoo stories in the magazine too. Some of the other stories were good and others were hard to get through. The final story took me awhile to get through. It was good but I think the art distracted me too much.I usually like Tom Sutton's art too.
