For those that didn't attend the SDCC Weekend; the CUP O' JOE Panel has basically announced that among the upcoming Series (Mini and/or Ongoing); one of the Titles mentioned just happens to be.......LONERS.....

:D

Or as they're originally called (when they were first introduced within the RUNAWAYS Series).....Excelsior....

Anyway IIRC, Writer BKV has previously made it clear that any series involving Excelsior/Loners will be written by somebody familiar with his work......

So......who do You think will be the Writer......??

When did Excelsior change their name to "Loners?" I don't remember that happening. That's great news about getting their own book though - no chance it will be written by Vaughn?

It is because Stan Lee has the trademark on the word "Excelsior" that Marvel can't market a book called Excelsior. It is similar to the situation with DC having books called Shazam or The Power of Shazam instead of Captain Marvel, because Marvel owns the trademark on the term "Captain Marvel"

Per their last appearance, it's Darkhawk, Turbo (from New Warriors), Ricochet (from Slingers), Lightspeed (from Power Pack), and Phil Urich (formerly Green Goblin IV). Rick Jones is their financial backer.

For the record, the identity of the Loners as Excelsior is still on the level of rumor.

Greg Pak or David Hine.

I think I saw Quesada confirm Loners as Excelsior when it was announced. Because I never heard it hinted as not true.

Ehhh,, I either don't know these guys or don't like them.

Still if it has Darkhawk in it, I'll probably pick it up. Just hope the art is better than Runaways.
