    Default Weird War Tales

What are some opinions on this mini?

I'm a fan of the old Weird War series, and am thinking about picking this one up.

Any feedback would be most appreciated. :)

I dug it. IIRC, it was the first mini anthology that vertigo did and it sold well enough for vertigo to put out more (sci fi, weird western, gangsters).

as with any anthology its gonna be a mixed bag. but vertigos weird war and the romance anthology "heart throbs", i thought were the better ones.

the ongoing anthology "flinch" wasnt bad. if you can find those cheap, I'd recommend getting some of those.

Well, I've never read any of the old series, so I can't really compare them but I did pick up this 4-issue mini when it came out and I loved it! As Cash Lone said above, the quality of the stories varies a bit but none of them really stink or anything.

For the most part they're very good and quite thought provoking at times. There are at least 3 or 4 stories which I thought were amazingly good and are indelibly stamped on my memory. And I haven't read this comics for some time but these stories were so good that I'm not likely to forget them in a hurry.

I don't think you'll be disapointed in this series.
    MY PULL LIST
All-Star Western • Avenging Spider-Man • Hit-Girl • Lady Mechanika • Road To Oz • Sherlock Holmes: The Liverpool Demon • Superior Spider-Man • Star Wars • Star Wars: Dark Times

Well worth it I think, as are most of the Vertigo anthologies.

Plus, issue one actually has a great story painted by Jim Lee which is nice little oddity worth reading.
