    Default Shopping List for 9/27/06

Diamond hasn't finalized the week's list yet, so there may be changes.

    52: Week Twenty-One
I'm still liking it, but there are certain plots I've lost interest in, so that affects my enjoyment of each issue.
    Justice vol. 1 HC
I'm unsure about this, but it might be the first thing I read.
    Loser vol. 5: Endgame TP
Did this end where Diggle wanted it to, or was this a premature end?
Otherworld vol. 1: Book One TP
Glad to see this is getting collected. All that finger-crossing paid off.

    Lions, Tigers, & Bears vol 2 #3
Love this sereis, but I unfortunately fell into that self-trade pattern of reading.

    Amazing Spider-Man #535
    Captain America #22
    Civil War Frontline #6

A nice little cluster of CW books.
    Daredevil #89
I should really wait on this series, but I'm enjoying it too much.
Daughters of the Dragon: Samurai Bullets TP
Liked the first two issues, so I'm looking forward to reading the rest here.
    She-Hulk 2 #12
Damn Slott. Making me like and care about fictional characters. What gives him the right?
    Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane
Making the switch to trade for $$$ reasons. :(
    Ultimate Spider-Man #100
OK. Amendment: this will be the first thing I read.

    Wonderland #2
    I hope I remebered to pre-order it.

    Wait for Trade
    --------------
    Usagi Yojimbo
Always brings a smile to my face.
    Batman #657
Morrison and Kubert? Yeah, I think DC might collect this.
    Batman and the Mad Monk
Wagner! This will definitely get collected.
    Jack of Fables
I'm actually hesitant about this, but I will most definitely be getting the first trade.
    Fear Agent
Read the first trade last month. I am now waiting impatiently for a second.
    Cable/Deadpool
    Eternals
    Heroes for Hire
    Powers
    X-Men

Waiting on various series for various reasons.

Just started looking at the new comics list in prep for recording the podcast tonight.

Wow, that's a LOT of comics this week. Heck, I could probably do a Top Ten HC and TPB list this week. I might entertain the notion of doing a Top 20 list this week, even.

    Hmmm, decisions, decisions.

And that, truly, is the price worth paying for WIZARD. I'm surprised they haven't adopted Comic Sans yet as their font of choice.

Dude, a free pile of dung is still just a pile of dung. Ask for the cash instead!

Every year, when it is time to either renew or change the periodical subscriptions for the library, my co-workers always bug me about Wizard. I know I should get it for the branch. I acknowledge this. I mean, the teens will love it (bless their ignorant little hearts). But I just can't do it. Can't. Do. It.

Until Ebsco carries CBG, it's going to have to be Shonen Jump and Shojo Beat.

    DC COMICS

52 Week #21: Feels good. Feels real good.
Batman #657: Some nice father son time.
Blue Beetle #7: This is the book I am most disappointed in. I so desperately wish to keep it, but evrery issue after the second has let me down. I may check back in on it later.
Justice Vol 1 HC: No explanation necessary.
Losers: Endgame TPB: Alas, we come to an end. I'm hoping for a few mini-series or something down the line. Yeah, I know, it's been optioned for a movie. Not the same.

    MARVEL COMICS

Daredevil #89: The only Marvel I read is Brubaker (and soon Matt Fraction on Punisher: War Zone). Daredevil actually. I read his first two Uncanny X-men. I can wait for the tpb on those.

I completely agree with your assessment. I dropped it with issue #5, but don't plan on going back (unless Ted Kord is somehow resurrected from the dead to take back the mantle of the Blue Beetle).

Guess I'm the black sheep of the bunch. I don't out and out hate the magazine. Yes, I think that from time to time, the whole of it is pretty useless, but it does give me something to read when I reach the bottom of my reading pile (which does actually happen from time to time).

    DC
52: Week 21 In it for the long haul. Can you believe we're almost half way done? Are the doing anything special for weeks 26 or 27?

Secret Six #4 At least as good as the mini series.

Supergirl and the Legion#22 So many ongoing stories in this. This is my soap opera superhero book of the week.

    Vertigo
Jack of Fables #3 I like that this has been a lot like Fables, but different in it's own way. Feels like it should be an extended min, rather than a full on going.

    Wildstorm
    Ninja Scroll #1
cause I'm a big anime nerd, and I've loved the movie since High School. if it's bad, I'll drop it quick.

    Marvel
    CW: Front Line #6
If for the Sppedball section only. Should I just stop reading before the last two pages?

CW: Young Avengers and Runaways #3 Second issue saved this one for me. For some reason I didn't like the art in issue 1 but I liked it in issue 2. Weird.

Eternals #4 Good stuff, what else can I say.

She-Hulk #12 I still don't know why I buy this. I like it, but it doesn't blow my socks off like it used to. I'm still sucked into the story though.

Ultimate Spidey #100 Still good after all this time. fearing what will happen when bagley leaves though. He's been my Spidey artist of choice since I started reading comics.

Ulitmates #12 I'll add my voice to the chorus and say "What happened in issue 11?" It's still good but seriously, where were we?

    Viz Media
    Shonen Jump
Monthly manga goodness. Yes, I know, I'm way outside the target age for this, but it's still fun comics.

Previews Hopefully there's some good indie stuff this month. The last few months have been a little thin. But I guess it saves me money. Take the good with the bad.

    Trades to possibly buy
    JSA: Vol 11
    Losers:Endgame
    Superman: Up, Up, and Away

More than likely, Losers will end up coming home and the other two will go back to the pull box for a later week. It's the only one I'm really excited about.

Most likely, yes. And I'm a big Billy Joel fan.
