    Default Shark *Spoilers*

No, not Sharks but the CBS show after the original CSI on Thursday nights.

I watched the season premeire of CSI but didn't really plan on sticking around for this show but the more I watched the more I had to stay. I don't know if I will be watching week to week but I can I wouldn't change the channel if this was on.

I didn't know what to expect with this show. James Woods works for me as Shark. A total bastard. Abrasive. Jeri Ryan, who doesn't really show up in this episode, seems to have a nice supporting role in this so far.

The set up works for me as well. There are many cop and legal shows on television so they all have to strive to be different from one another. The characters are believable. The potential plots are laid out in the first episode, plus the cases in and of themselves.

I really hope this show gets a fair chance to compete because it is going against ER.

I saw some bits and pieces of it. While I really like Woods, it seemed too much like the law version of House.

That's what I was thinking as well but I don't have enough experience (as I have only seen like 2 episode) with House to make that comparision legitimately.

Dang, missed it. Forgot it was on. I like James Woods and the previews seemed like fun. I'll try to catch it next week.

Unless it's posted on YouTube before then...:p

Shark's entertaining at times, a bit too mopey at times (father-daughter subplot), but Woods in the court room (or prep time) is a fun bit of viewing. Oh, Danielle Panabaker (plays Shark's daughter) is pretty cute too.

Watched it just because of James Woods and liked it. Did anyone else know Spike Lee was directing the first episode?
I'm sure in your magical fantasy land where you and the Hulk prance around the butterscotch rivers this is what would happen. In all actuality, nope.

Finally caught this and as I hoped, I liked it. I couldn't care less about the stories or the supporting cast, I just wanna see James Wood doing his schtick every week (I suppose the presence of the supporting cast is good insofar that it allows for breathers between Woods' scenery chewing -- and I say that in a pleased, affectionate way).

It's fun in a weird "James Wood is the anti-Raymond Burr" sorta way.

Sidebar: Do you know why they got a new office in last night's episode? Probably because the pilot was shot on standing sets from some other film or TV series that wouldn't be available for the show once it went into regular production. Likewise painting the walls of Woods' home was probably to hide the change over to a new, permanent set.

Still hope to check this out. I'm glad it's getting good ratings, as that means I'll probably have ample time to do so without it getting yanked. Is Woods character sort of an anti-Alan Shore?

Illeana Douglas will join the show as a recurring character. She'll play a defense attorney who stands toe to toe with Sebastian Stark (James Woods).

Last night's episode won the timeslot with 15.32 million viewers. That's an increase of 1.7 million.

The episode was good, but rather predictable. I called the twist about 15 minutes into the show.

Kind of a standard plot tonight, but it was fun watching Sebastian freak out over his protection of his daughter.

Anyone think that the new bodyguard he hired to protect her is going to end up falling for her and she for him?

The episode drew 14.08 million viewers.

The way they quickly got Sebastian's license reinstated last night was preposterous but otherwise a very entertaining episode. Oh man, when will Julie learn?

The show drew 14.26 million viewers, down 840,000.
