    Default Doctor Druid Questions

Hey I need some help from some knowledgable avenger fans about the character that everyone loves too hate:D . Wich comic is the one where the avengers put up the memorial statue of Doc Druid ? I'm also looking for some issues that really showcase druids powers. It seems like everytime he does something good, he does something bad, or vice versa. So he's always "even steven". What has he done with the avengers that was of any significance? Looking for serious answers, so please don't hack on me for liking druid, lol. I have all his secret defender and infinty crossovers, as well as the mini, but I lack in the avengers department. Thanx.

I think he initially helped them out of a jam, circa Under Siege. Then, there was his drift towards the manipulating, evil skeemer. So, I guess, indirectly, he was responsible for the end of that Bearded Thor, the cursed Black Knight, Captain Marvel/Photon loosing control over the Avengers, and She-hulk.... well, whatever happened to her too....

Dr. Druid used telepathy & other psionic power several times to great effect as an Avenger.

--He challenged Baron Zemo's control of Blackout at the end of the "Under Siege" story.

--used a combo of illusions, telekinesis, and mind control to defeat Tigra in battle in "West Coast Avengers Annual #2".

--defeated Hephaestus' golden robot women by telekinetically chain-lashing them into a smelting pot in the post-Siege story set in Olympus.

--subtly influenced Captain Marvel II to transfer Avengers leadership to him.

I always thought he initially looked too evil for the team.

I wouldn't have trusted the guy with a butter knife if you ask me.

Wasn't it stated somewhere that Droom had used his mental powers to influence the Avengers to trust him? Cause they certainly openned the doors to their little club fast for him.... (not that they don't usually do the same thing... Swordsman, Powerman, Mantis, Vision, etc. etc..etc...)

Of course, the fact that Druid helped the Avengers rescue the Black Knight from Avalon/the past probably opened the mansion doors a little faster the next time he showed up. Especially in light of his help against Zemo Jr's Masters of Evil.

    Default cool

cool, thanx guys. I'll have to look into the under siege thingie. Hey does anyone remeber the last time that dr druid worked with dr. strange? I think it was "Dr. Strange Sorceror supreme" # 33-36, but I could be mistaken. I would have liked to see them team up more before Druid got the axe. They seemed to work well together in the infinity crossovers, plus they both had the same mentor. I remember one time Strange got stuck in a time warp and he would have been screwed. Luckily Strange and Druid had a telepathic connection and strange was able to contact druid to help him. It's kinda wierd though. They seemed pretty cool with one another, but then Strange kind of screwed him over when he forced Druid to became the leader of the secret defenders and then he left Druid with those annoying visions. His attitude kind of seemed like" thanks, and screw you", lol.

Druid also plays a important role in that "Man and Wolf" story arc in Captain America , the one with the infamous Capwolf. :D

Druid and his Shock troop also helped Quasar in containing the anti-body in Quasar 45-46.

Druid got involved in a battle of willpower against Dracula in Avengers annual 16 and was killed by him. The chump stood no chance against the lord of vampires. :D

I'm a huge Dr Strange fan but I always loved Dr Druid too...
His weird personality was a huge breath of fresh air to me because it was such a weird fit for the avengers.

Under Siege is Avengers 273-277, and is one of the finest Avengers stories ever. Druid joins the team in 278, and hangs around until the team is dispersed (due primarily to his efforts) in 296. He becomes leader of the team briefly in the 290s.

The annual was before his transformation to his younger looking self.

I could never get into the character. To me he always seemed like the guy you'd go to if Dr. Strange was too busy to help.
