    Default mignola interview

one of my favorite mignola interviews doesn't seem to be on that list. there is a book called "Panel Discussions: Design in Sequential Art Storytelling".

mignola talks about how he draws and the mechanics behind his storytelling. anyone that wants to be a comic artist or just loves understanding more about mike should check this out. really cool insights all thru it!

here is a link to the book on amazon for anyone interested...

    Default Hellboy in Madman #1

There's a great thread about Madman #3 over at the Community Forum. Mike Allred chose to attempt to mimic the drawing style of dozens of artists in this comic, including Mike Mignola. People have been showing scans of the pages and trying to identify which frame references which artist. Fun stuff!

I was so drawn in by Mike Allred's efforts that I went to my comic shop and bought #3. I also bought #! (#2 was out of stock) while I was at it and to my surprise Hellboy appears in a big two page spread.

(Cropped from a two page spread and drawn in Allred's own style.)

Wow, Allred does a nice late 80's era Mignola quite well! Thanks for the link!

Here's another little Hellboy cameo I spotted recently. It's in Usagi Yojimbo #100 in a story by Sergio Aragones.

I caught a Hellboy reference. In the Free Comic Book Day issue of the Simpsons Comic Book Guy is wearing a very familiar fist on one hand. I think it was his left.

Thanks for all you've done, and for all you still do. ;)
Help me doing something great with the 'Hellboy/Wolverine' gallery.
In France Hellboy is called Hellboy, and Wolverine is called Serval; that's it . :D

That reminds me....I still need to find a copy of UY #100.

I used to read Madman back in the day. Nice to see he's ramping it back up again.

    Authority (1999 1st Series) 9
When the Doctor is having a conversation on the thing that threat that has presented itself, he's met with all the previous versions of the Doctor. Among these we can see Rasputin. Not just Rasputin - Mignola's HB-verse version of him: he's in a long black robe with the red dragon and stars.
