Default Should Psylocke Have Been Brought Back in her Original Body?

When Betsy Braddock was brought back to life in Uncanny X-Men #455, should the editors have relented on the Chinese Betsy with Elisabeth back in her original British body?

Given the horrible Revanche (Kwannon) origin--which further convoluted Betsy's post-Siege Perilous story when it did not have to be--make Betsy's British body the all-the-more common sense approach for the character? Furthermore, as Psylocke, Betsy would still retain her ninja fighting skills & her psychic knife. However, a draw back would be Elisabeth is truly back to square one & no longer the ultimate woman warrior.

    What is y'all's opinions?

Nah, she's hotter as Asian, and personality-wise it doesn't matter.
That's right! Al Gore invented the internet, let's all go kick his ass!

I wouldn't mind either way, but I think it's better she remain in her Aisan body. I mean, she hasn't been Caucasion for a long time, and I'm sure many readers from the 90s on don't remember that whole Siege Perilous/Kwannon storyline. Changing her back after all these years might just further confuse readers.

Of course, I don't think it even matters, because most of the time its hard to tell she's even Aisan depending on what artist is drawing her.

Hell, it took me like 5 years to realize Jubilee was Chinese!

First of all, she's Japanese. And second, i suppose her ressurection would be a viable excuse for her to regain her original body. The thing is, i think you just contradicted yourself. How could she "retain her ninja fighting skills & her psychic knife," but be back to square one?

Maybe if she ever returns from Exiles, she'll get that body back. But that's not for a long time and might not even happen.

Personally, i don't see a problem with the JApanese body. Yea, it was a weird story, but it was a long time ago. Many people are more used to her asian look than her old self. And i was never nuts about the whole "battle maiden/valkyrie/xena" looking armor she used to have. If she gets her old body, she better be teh same Betsy she's become since her original body swap.

THe cartoon show and the Generation X movie didn't help with any of that either.

I HATE POLLS THAT DON'T LET ME SEE WHO VOTED WHAT.

That said: I liked British Betsy best BECAUSE she made telepaths cool, interesting, and resourceful -- with a character flaw (physically, they are wimps).

MEGAPHOENIX OF DEATH, that ho Rachel Summers, and many others bore me to tears. I also loved the simply telekinetic Marvel Girl of X-Factor. I like my characters with limitations and limited uses.

It has less to do with the body, and more to do with how Psylocke was used then as compared to now with her giant, pink phallus.

No, you should reread Uncanny X-Men #256. Matsuo is from China--not Japan. When Betsy is transformed, she went to a Chinese culture. Fabien made another mistake by saying Kwannon is Japanese when the character should be Chinese.

I don't think we should talk about the sensitivities of varying Asian cultures, when we're discussing one of the most stereotypically "Azian" characters in the X-Universe (if not whole MU).

No way. Let a Bad Girl be a Bad Girl. And she should get her thong and stiletto boots back too.

No, put her back in her House of M costume. Now that was cool. :)
