Default Brubaker Uncanny. Love it or Hate it?

My basic overview - the writer of one of the best books out there now, captain america, has gotten off o a pretty unimpressive start in uncanny.

    warpath, havok, polaris zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

    anybody have any thoughts?

    whats good
    whats bad
what could they do to make it better
what do you think they're going to do

This topic has been talked about plenty in threads about the specific issues. Generally speaking, people have been positive but not blown away, and 475-476 were more appreciated than 477.

    I don't love it and I don't hate it.
It's got some good points and some bad points.

I'll have to give it more than three months before I judge it.

I'm giving it a bit of time only because Brubaker has done well on Captain America, but dude at the moment its been disappointing for me. I remember in the first issue of his run on Cap Red Skull got shot in the head. In his first issue of Uncanny, what happened? Warpath pulled out some big knives?

If a comic doesn't give you withdrawal symptoms for the next issue like a nicotine addict - its failed - imho. and i just dont get that form this book

So far I like it, though I am uneasy about the space journey. I am curious as to what is gonna happen to the various characters, and about the little hints Brubaker dropped a long time ago.

I am loving it so far. The last issue 477 was a bit of a downer but it set up what Vulcan has been up to. I think Bru is the man to return the UXM to the top tier of comics where it belongs. I like the cast and Billy Tan is awesome!

Despite a good roster of characters and a promising story idea (the fall of the Shiar empire), this book is so lame! And Deadly Genesis was, in my opinion, one of the worst X-Men stories ever told.

The story decompression ruins a really good storyline into a medicre one. I'm not thrilled with the Vulcan/X-Men 1.5 retcon team from the Deadly Genesis story either.

Considering how bad I thought the prior run in UXM was...I feel this is an improvement.

I'm trying to give it more time because its only been 3 books. But so far its no where near as good as the other 2 X-men books and I think that might be one reason I think its bad. But don't get me wrong its better then what was going on in Uncanny before he took over but so far Brubaker hasn't hooked me. After reading the other X-men books I think wow I can't wait till the next issue, but right now with Uncanny I dont feel that way.
McKenstry those with the most opinions often have the fewest facts.

Barack Obama There's not a liberal America and a conservative America - there's the United States of America.

Christopher Yost Cyclops = Awesome and Right, while Xavier = USELESS JERK-O! Viva la Cyclops!

Facts are the enemy of truth.

You gonna get us out of here. With that tight-ass Wolverine outfit on. Now, let's make it happen, asshole

YOST: Okay, it's not Jean Grey. Nobody likes her

I LIKE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Warpath is a bad ass now with his newly begotten Vibranium Knives Storm (who I've hardly EVER seen him talk to) gave him as presents from Wakanda ....ok that seemed a little gimmicky .......but I'm still enjoying it so far mainly cause I really like DARWIN (although I am a christian lol) and I wanna see if Lilandra is really the evil B^%#H her people have been making her out to be

I don't like how Vulcan Mutant Power seems to just be "He's hella Powerful" that doesn't play very well with me I want some set powers for this guy so they can't cheat with his powers

This is known as "throwing good money after bad"...I used to do it myself when all my favourite artists decided they were also writers, publishers, editors etc...sometime in the early to mid nineties...what was that company they formed called again...? ;)

In any case I recommend against it :D
