Angel seasons 1-5
Firefly Season1/Serenity

WHich one of these is your overall favorite?

I picked Firefly. I think that it really should have lasted longer, but I'm glad Whedon didnt get the chance to screw it up like he did around season 3 or 4 with angel. Angel was great, but it just got too dark and a little cheesey with the son being involved. Anyway, Firefly is the only one I own on dvd, so it wouldnt be right to say anything else.

The line indicates that there is no comparing the above seasons to the ones below given the marked differences in quality. Not that the ones below were necessarily bad, they just weren't nearly as excellent as the ones above. And while Firefly was certainly excellent I can't fairly grade it without counting the movie. If I can count the movie then it goes up.

Angel season 3. This was when Wesley started turning all badass and when Holt came back and stole Connor. This was just an awesome season.

Also agree with Angel season 3. These episodes have recently been on TNT and I re-watched them all.

The characters really grow by leaps and bounds, plus the "family" idea of Angel was probably at its strongest in this season.

The edge I give it over any Buffy season was the fact that it didn't follow the formula of building to the "Big Bad" it was a season constant danger and adventure (Darla's pregnancy, protecting Connor, Holtz, Wesley betraying them, Cordelia becoming a demon)

Agree with a lot of this, but I'm surprised to see Buffy season 5 so low. I always thought it was the best season. Not a fan of Dawn and Glory?

I go with Angel Season 5 as I enjoyed the interaction between Spike and Angel. That was some good writing that season.

I liked Firefly season only --- It was intriguing as well but it didn't hold the length that Angel did, it could have but Fox screwed the formula.

I liked it. Just not as well as the ones above. And the whole motorhome chase with a bunch of horsebacked crazies at the end of the season kind of killed it for me. And the season finale had no resonance whatsover since everyone knew that Buffy wasn't really going to stay dead.

There is only one season of any of them that I thought was utterly horrible and that was Buffy season I. Thankfully I didn't get into the show til Buffy season III. It still amazes me that the show got picked up after season I given how bad some of the first episodes were.

My reasons for liking it the most as well. I had come to tolerate Wesley by season II although I still missed Doyle. Season III is where Wesley became my favorite character. No character from either show grew or changed as much as Wesley, not even Cordelia.

Buffy Season 3 is pretty much perfect as far as I'm concerned. My favorite villains, my favorite season long storyline, some of my favorite stand alone episodes, plus its the only season to feature Buffy, Xander, Willow, Giles, Cordelia, Angel, and Oz all full time.

Buffy Season 5, Angel Season 1 and 5, and Firefly Season 1 are the other one I'd consider the best.

Its funny that everybody's mentioning Angel Season 3 cause I'd consider it one of my least favorites (along with Buffy Season 6 and Angel Season 4). I like about the fist half of Angel Season 3 and after the Connor plot starts in I get completely bored. Oh well. Different strokes.
