Pretty cool Joe! And I like the "hero to villain" theme you gave him!

I really wanted to do a Golden Age Savage Dragon, but it was already picked, I had Shaft done, and my design was a little too Star Man. But this was a really rough idea of what I had:

I too wanted to see that Adam Strange type fin on top of the Savage Dragon design! I love it, Zach. Would have voted for it, in fact.

Here's my Legionnaire Storm! I wanted the fun look of Storm's mohawk, as it's visually striking, while following the fun, campy style of Legion costumes. Gloves, boots, earings all tried to emulate the typical costume most Legionnaires adorn. I think it came out too dark -- not nearly skimpy enough for the Disco Age but then not fun enough for the other eras. I still love it as a fine peice of art!

Done entirely in Photoshop with too much patience. Used a mouse, hence the sketchy lines!

    Default Osmium

One of the great things about being eliminated is that you can do all the weird stuff without having to worry about votes.

Pity poor Osmium. For has there ever been such a Metal Man, such a victim of cruel fate?

Back in the day, Will Magnus decided to make himself a new Metal Man. After spinning his Wheel of Metals he set out to create Osmium, the densest Metal Man ever.

Osmium was an unqaulified success. He was amazingly dense and very useful. Magnus was quite pleased. The other Metal Men were a little exasperated; Osmium was dense in every way and even the simplest conversation could last two or three days.

One day the Metal Men were called on to face the diabolical Darkseid! As was often the case, the second-rate heroes were abel to thwart the immenself powerful uber-villain, but at great loss. Osmium was used as a projectile to shatter a Boom Tube that was set to dump molten lava on Chicago. The Metal Men mourned their fallen comrade and went on with their lives.

But Osmium was not destoryed! Horribly damaged, his body was brought to the incredibly evil Granny Goodness. Granny, in her dastardly wisdom, recast Osmium in a slightly more female shape and reprogrammed his responsometer, turning the densely dense hero into a transvestite performer for the Dog Soldier Revue and Follies.

Osmium spent years on Apokolips, eventually becoming the top performer in Apokolopian history. A chance encounter with the somewhat-confusuing semi-hero Ambush Bug brought Osmium back in touch with his heroic side. Rescuing Ambush Bug's beloved sidekick Cheeks from certain doom, Osmium broke free of Granny Goodness's controla dn came back to Earth, where he re-joined the Metal Men.

Osmium is now once again a great hero, but he still prefers to dress in his "superstar" costume.

Rumors of his affair with Will Magnus are considered to be a smear campaign started by a jealous T. O. Morrow.

That is simply stunning Chad! And simply HILARIOUS! I definitely would've voted for that.

Well, I've been slowly getting my designs put together for the last challenge in this year's competition for the play-at-home thread. Got off to a late start (last Thursday), but I hope to have all of my characters together by the end of day tomorrow (I should have the team players at least, if not the villain). I'll have more details on the actual group once I have all three of my heroes up in this thread.

Here's my first character of the bunch....

    Sunshine

14 year old Zoe Schuster. Super-hero wannabe. Daughter of Stan Shuster, astronomer, and Z'onoelle, exiled princess from the planet Tazel. Zoe, naturally, has inherited some of her mother's natural alien abilities and now uses them to fight crime in her homeland town of Fearnot.

    Powers:
Light manipulation - Can create any wavelength of light to extreme intensities. Common uses: Blinding flashes. Laser vision.
Heat manipulation - Can radiate heat to temperatures high enough to enflame objects, but can not control actual flames.
Can also change her body into pure light, making her intangible and enabling her to fly.

Nice one Escapegoat, very supergirly. I like the fact she actually looks 14.

Eager to see the rest of the team :)

I like this one! Actually goes with the description very literally. I know a lot of the entries played with the words but you just grabbed them and swallowed them whole. love it.
