Yes
No
Well, with the multiverse officially back, my hope that she could return to her own world (the "original" Golden Age DCU, though in present times) looks a little more realistic.
It would be fun to see her take on the responsibility of taking over for the legendary Superman who had been around since 1938 but is now gone, and reconnecting with her old life and old friends (who she doesn't remember until meeting with them again.) The readers could re-discover that world along with her.
I like that she has her own unique look, other than that she seems to just be another hero. What makes sets her apart? Note that I am actually asking, she seems interesting, but I know little about her.
Personally for me, she is the first heroine whose voice I could identify.
What I mean is that when PG was introduced at DC, you pretty much could swap out any female heroine's dialogue box with another heroine's and you wouldn't tell the difference.
Kara, from the start, had a distinctive tone of voice (which I must admit, I'm surprised writers maintained) and that personally is why I liked Kara. You always knew who was talking even if Kara was in shadows.
Then there is the dichotomy between her personality and her figure of course. PG is arguably the most buxom DC heroine (only Starfire might be bigger) but she's also the most feminist personality in DC.
I don't think that's really a dichotomy. I think the feminist perspective would be to be comfortable with your body, no matter its shape. If you've got a big rack, don't be embarassed or feel ashamed. Hell, show it off! You're woman, roar!
(A dichotomy would be using the word "rack" while discussing feminism.)
re: PG's lack of a normal life.
The fact is, I can see where PG is coming from. Seriously, why would she bother with "normal" people? Hell, what does she have in common with any normal Joe Blow Public and more importantly, why would she want to make herself "mundane".
If they put together a new Power Girl monthly series, I would heartily recommend her supporting cast from the "Other Earths" or the new "Earth 2" resulting from the 52 series.
With some many titles being cancelled recently (like Hawkgirl for instance), is it time for Power Girl to either get a mini-series, or a monthly?
I say yes!!
I think it's time for another female superhero team book like Birds of Prey, but with more super superheroines.
Go !@#$ yourself.
Yeah. It seemed like that's what Gail was doing with the Birds after the hundredth issue. She invited a whole lot of heroines, including Power Girl and Bulleteer, but only Barda, Manhunter, and Hawkgirl threw in. Gypsy was in the Birds before, though, so she got a bit of spotlight from it.
But yeah, I'm talking about a book for characters like Power Girl, Bulleteer, and Wonder Girl to get some real focus considering you can only find two of 'em on team books and the other's, sadly, filler character space for splash pages.
Go !@#$ yourself.
My only thing is, why does it have to be limited to only females? Why can't it be a team with a female majority, like the current Heroes for Hire?
The birds of Prey actually had two males hanging around.
We've seen Jason, Duela, and Donna get attacked by them, and we know that Breach, Kyle, and Jimmy are next, but when are the Monitors going to go after the original Crisis survivor, PG?
I mean, she and the Flashes practically started this mess. However, unlike Donna and Jason, I'd like to see PG whoop the Forerunner's a$$. That would be great!
