    Default Ratatouille: Pixars Rat movie

So even if Cars doesn't look that great (Larry the Cable Guy... uh no) I have to say I'm more excited about Ratatouille. This was apparently going to be their first non Disney movie. And it's got a lot going for it. For one it's got Brad Bird directing it and also Patton Oswalt as the lead. God bless Pixar and their impeccable taste in voice casting (Larry the Cable Guy aside).

    Default Ratatouille

Brad Bird's followup to the Incredibles comes out in a few weeks. Yet there doesn't seem to be a lot of hype/excitement for it, at least internet-wise....Was it because Cars was a little underwhelming? That we've already had a rat-based movie with Flushed Away (Which "Flushed Away" Dreamwork's money :) ) or are people just sick of CGI family films?

I like what I've seen from the previews, and while CGI isn't my first choice of animation, the work on this film looks spectacular.

I haven't really enjoyed any Pixar movie since Bug's Life. Incredibles was okay, but I never finished watching it, and I'm not exactly regretting it.

Ratatouille looks like it could be loads of fun. The concept alone is enough to draw me in. A rat that wants to be a chef, Patton Oswalt; that's plus plus for me.

This looks like it could be fun. I've liked all of Pixars movies. Except Cars, Which I did not see because it looked like an abomination.

Is there going to be an Incredibles part 2? Or does Disney own that franchise. I'd hate to see it relegated to direct to dvd sequels. Especially considering Disney's 3d animation movies' quality.

I've really liked most of Pixar's films to date but this one I'm probably going to pass on. Even my kids don't really want to see it and instead are more excited about Surf's Up which to me looks just as bad.

P.S. Whats with the Car's hate in this thread? I loved it.

^Incredibles was awesome, can't wait for the sequel. About Ratatouille, both animation and humour look stellar already, I feel like it will be a return to the classic "comedy moments" we've found in Bug's life and Toy Story

While the animation looks incredible, the movie's premise will ultimately keep me from going to the theater for it. Much like last year's "Cars" did.

I mean, a rat in France who wants to cook?

    Thumbs up AICN reviews Ratatouille

it all depends upon how much you trust AICN

watch out, mild spoilers. And it doesnt really surprise me all the praise the movie's getting..looks like Pixar's on its way again to deliver us another delicious meal. And after all the huge disappointments this season brought us so far it couldnt be more welcome

edit: thanks mod, I should have checked I know :D

Not impressed by the previews. A Pixar movie usually gets me all fired up. Looks kinda boring this time.

Maybe it's just market saturation. Practically once a month a new CGI movie pops up. Between the Shreks, Chicken Little, Hoodwinked, Madagascar and Over the Hedge(just a partial list, off the top of my head), we've become numb to it all. 'Oh great, another CGI cartoon movie. Wake me when Stardust is released."

On the other hand, we are talking Brad Bird, whose last two times at bat produced an underrated gem(Iron Giant) and an absolute hit(The Incredibles) that ranks as one of the best animated movies in the last ten years. And so far Pixar's been batting 1000. My least favorite Pixar movie(A Bug's Life) was better than 90% of what was released that year. I predict that the streak will continue with Ratatouille.

And I will be there this weekend.

My six year old literally squeels whenever we pass an add for this. She never gets this excited about a movie.

My granddaughter is the same age as the "Tot", and she's going nuts to see it too.

This is probably a good sign.
