Question Reality show with Stan Lee

I am not usually much on any of the reality shows myself. But if its done right... this may work for an old superhero geek like me.

Here's the hype. Stan Lee and Sci-Fi channel are doing a reality TV show where folks write and create their own Superhero. Then they must get into that hero's costume and create a video and send it with their application to the producers. They (Stan Lee and Sci-Fi) will select a number of contestants to compete on the show and the winner not only gets his hero turned into a comic book with Stan Lee, there will be a Sci-Fi movie filmed about him/her.

So what thoughts do you guys have?

Personally I am reminded of the last reality show I recall on Sci-Fi where they moved a bunch of people in with a witch, a voodoo priestess, a "naturalist", a "vampire", and the body modification guru. Not a great show, but it had its up points for sure.

This new idea may be good or it may be really bad. Sci-Fi has a few stinker movies they have made as I am sure everyone will agree. I have a mild curiosity regarding this that if properly cultivated may get me watching that show. If for no other reason then to see if they do it right for a change.

If these people have to humiliate themselves to dress in a costume for Stan Lee, I want to see Stan Lee as Spider-Man or Mr. Fantastic. The costume thing seems just for the reality show. Really, if they were serious--not about public humiliation--all they would have to do is submit the character in an outline & perhaps a rough sketch.

Default Who Wants to be a Superhero?

The new show is coming to the Sci-Fi Channel, courtesy of Stan "the Man" Lee. Who here will be watching it? I know I will. My friend Darren was accepted to be on teh show under the super hero name "Nitro'. I'm psyched and can;t wait for the show!

Default Who Wants To Be A Supehero?

I know this isn't exactly Marvel, but it is a show created by Stan Lee, so might as well put it here. Just letting everyone know it is premeiring July 27 at 9PM on the Sci Fi Channel. By just looking at the commercial, looks kind of campy, but I'll give it at least an episode.

I plan on watching it. If you look at the powers you can see how there will be some clashes. Like the overweight woman who uses fatening food (donuts) to fuel her size and strength and the alien woman who uses health food to fuel her power.

Now the woman with the trick bananas seems a little perverse so I've got to see it! :D

I think its going to be camp and cheesy but the thing is that the 3 of the auditions i watched looked as though they were very well thought out.

Cell phone girl for instance even though its a crap name for a superhero, all her powers are thought out and quite hilarious. Like she cannot be around many of her loved ones because she emits too much radiation and might give them cancer.

That sounds hilarious. Well, hopefully, they'll find some good ones. I don't know what the prize is to the winner, but I would like them to develop a comic book if they find a really good one.

Oh dear god I'm watching this crap now. Stan Lee is setting back comics centuries. It’s hard enough to convince some people that comics are not for kids but when they put crap like this on the air it makes all comics look bad. Worst part is the winner will be in a comic! Why on earth would anyone even consider reading it?!

Holw crap this is awfull hehe.

If its not scripted then thats the worst acting Ive ever seen. I know they arent supposed to be real actors and this is reality but still everything seems setup and like they are trying to hard to be excited and into it. Just seems fake.

Its not even a bad campy good kind of awfull like say old batman series. I quit watching at the purple archway race.
