Default The Nintendo DS- Then and now

    A post of the bored.

I bought a DS pretty soon after it came out. I remember my X-Box sounded like it was about to die so I took it to Gamestop and asked them how much for a working X-Box and how much for a broke one. Since it was still working and it was worth a lot more I traded it in and picked up a DS just for the heck of it.

Now the first game I bought was Super Mario 64 DS. I'd played the N64 version. The additional characters made and mini-games made it a lot of fun to play but it was a "remake"

I picked up games like the Spider-Man 2 movie game and Rayman DS. Both were kind of lacking.

I started to wonder if I picked the wrong system.

Now - It's probably my favorite system I've ever bought.

You have great RPG games like Advanced Wars and Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time. Some excellent 2D games like Sonic Rush, Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, The New Super Mario Bros (which I just got yesterday. Sweet Great 2D Mario game!). Plus unique games like Kirby Canvas Curse and Trauma Center under the Knife, and Brain Age. Heck my wife who never plays video games actually spends a lot of time playing Sudoku on Brain Age.

That's all I can think of now. So bye. :)

I've had mine for about 6 or so months and I love it. I play it A LOT more then my PS2 or Gamecube. I couldn't believe I liked it so much because of my experience with handhelds in the past. The Gameboy and GBA sucked if you ask me, but the DS is great. Pretty much any game with Mario, or an off character from his games is a great game to pick up.

I haven't gotten a DS for lack of funds but it's getting harder and harder to resist.

The DS is a bad little system. It's just a shame that I can't find more people to play Advanced Wars...

Just wondering how the online play is. Do you get a good connection and is there enough people to make it worth the purchase of the WiFi USB connector?
The power to destroy planets is insignificant to the power to turn one into a muffin. -Xombie

Ninja and Pirate are the balancing fundamental forces in the universe. At the big bang, there was but one Pirinja, but he was split infinitly and scattered across the cosmos. When all are rejoined, the universe will end and a new one shall be made from its ashes. -Captain Sarcasm

No idea. I have dial-up at home so online is kind of moot for me. I haven't even played a multiplayer game since I'm the only one I know of that has a DS. My son is wanting one though and I kind of like how the DS lite is smaller (and multiple light settings) so I told him we'd do some trading. Basically he could either buy a new one with his own money or he could trade me his GBA SP for my DS and I'd use it as a trade in towards the lite. He went with the trade option since it won't cost him anything.

The online is really good, always fast and full of people, but the system is kinda crappy. Certain games require friend codes to be able to play with others, and each games gives you a different code.

I love my DS though, I have the limited teal Nintendogs edition, and I'll be getting a lite on 6/11.

I now know that Tish is a heavily armed, black, bi-sexual, truck driving woman who likes going to the clubs.
I don't think I learned this much about Tom in six months let alone one post. - Boldido

My only complaint with the DS is the friend code system. Other than that the online is great.

I remember how when I first bought my DS I started regretting it a couple of weeks afterwards, now I can't put it down. There are so many great games for it and it just keeps getting better

I love my DS to death! I have Mario Kart, Castlevania DoS (I beat twice with Soma, and I'm working on beating it with Julius), New Super Mario Brothers, Lost Magic (Pretty fun if you like to work for it), Nintendogs, and I have Animal Crossing.

And now, there are a few games that are coming out that will make sure that the DS is here to stay.

    Castlevania PoR
    Zelda
    Starfox
    Digimon Story
    Final Fantasy III

The DS is on such a huge roll that it won't stop for a long time. And once Pokemon Rangers: Road to Pearl and Diamond come out, along with Pokemon Pearl and Diamond come out... DS has there fate sealed.

If I might make a suggestion, you need to go Soul Harvesting. First you need to equip Ghost Dancers, and get 7 of them so you won't have that hard of a time finding souls. Then you need to get the Clahim Solaris and the Death Scythe. Although I beat it on level 67, with those two weapons and the bug attack (It escapes my mind) Menace is easy to beat.

Yes, the DS has definitely shaped up as a fine little system.
The monster saved them all. And in their fear, they betrayed him. As they always have. As they always will.
