Default What's the edition no. of the Shawn Nagle Hellboy?

I tried to look this up on hellboy.com but the merchandise section is down. Does anyone know how big the edition was on the Shawn Nagle Hellboy statue?

I was interviewed in Vice Magazine about comics and collecting and we discussed this but I couldn't remember the total number of statues made. Was it 18 or 23 or something like that? Or was it higher?

Seem to remember the number 18 being the cut off.
I close my ears and hum, but the voices just get louder.

    25...one for everyone!

I remember seeing the prototype at SDCC. I asked them about it and they said it was going to retial for under $50 (?!) and would be available soon. I just wonder why it never got going. It looked fantastic. I assume it had to do woth the legalities of ownership and distribution but if we can have that Hellboy door hinge thing why would this be such a hassle? We could use a great Hellboy kit out there.

I'm not 100% sure. But I always thought it was approved by Mignola.
    Could be wrong though...

I also think I heard someone say there was some freak accident involved in the edition being that small. That it was planned to be bigger run but lots of kits disappeared or got destroyed or somesuch. That's what I heard way way back. Could be wrong through.

If anyone's got any actual info on this topic I'm very curious to hear about it.

I think I remember that too-- something about Polydata was also going to do a large amount of Star Wars stuff at the time and everything was focused to that line?

(The Hellboy kit was solicited in either PREVIEWS or ADVANCE COMICS, I can't dig up the catalog right now, everything I own is in storage.)

Seems like they could rectify this by now if the desire was still there. Maybe the Hellboy license has grown too large and expensive for them to attempt it again (at the time I talked to them the first Bowen statue had just come out and I decided to not get the Bowen one and wait for the Nagle one since it was much more affordable).

So, yeah, I always wondered about the small edition size of this one. What a shame if it was all due to some odd fluke of nature...or the supernatural. ;)

Jonell I just bought that one that you posted! Number 11 of 25!! After seeing the build and paint ups that Jakob and Mack have, this was a no brainer to grab it.

Actually - who else here on the board has one of these?

    Josh!
