Out for San Diego Comic Con. Good call. The novelists should all do a panel with Mike.

Oh man, that would be great! We could get a really interesting discussion going, instead of the "I know you said not to ask about the movie, but I had this question about the movie..." kind of stuff that usually happens.

Tad, as ever you are right on the ball and thinking my thoughts even before I've had the chance to type them out! :) I love it when that happens!!

Yeah, these novels are really hitting the spot and I sincerely hope they continue these ad infinitum. It would be a ton of fun to have Mike and the various authors-past, present, and future, do a panel together. Hopefully the PTB are listening...

Only problem with the novels are that they strain an allready non-existent economy. So far I've ignored them as probably-uninteresting but then a friend lent me Bones of Giants and I realized that wasn't the case.

Same thing with the whole BPRD-title. Soon we'll be having Liz and Abe Sapien-books (allready happend) and the worst part will be that they'll be good! Sorry, OT there.

    Summary of novel
(Thanks to Christopher Golden for trackin' it down for me) :)

Hellboy, a blood-red, cloven-hoofed demon raised by the United States government, is a top field agent for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. He questions the unknown-- then beats it into submission.

Religious artifacts from every faith are disappearing without a trace. The identity of the perpetrator is a complete mystery until Hellboy and Liz Sherman-- acting on an unlikely tip from a ghost-- foil a museum heist attempted by crude, robotic constructs inhabited by human spirits.

One of these freed human spirits offers to help Hellboy track down those who imprisoned him: a fanatical order of psychics obsessed with creating a new messiah, one that will bring about a new stage of evolution for mankind-- whether mankind is willing or not.

Now only Hellboy and his colleagues stand between a vulnerable humanity and an evil, vengeful god....

Sounds like the plot to a story that Mike himself might draw in a Hellboy adventure of his own! This one looks like it will be fun. :)

Is that an observation or a semi-fact?

According to an interview with Sniegoski that I read...somewhere, the plot is (presumably loosely) based on an actual event, a cult that tried to make its own god. I've tried tracking it down on the Web, but no luck so far.

that is a great plot. on the verge of being silly (at least we retold like that) but not crossing over.
