    Default Ghost Hunters Show

anybody watch this? I saw an episode and it was pretty cool. Dudes go to some sketchy spots. I was sort of waiting for Gozer and The Gatekeeper to come out and get blasted.

I dig it. The guys are cool, and while most of the time they find nothing, some of the stuff that happens is pretty wild.

Yeah, I like it too. I try to catch it every Wednesday. Some of the stuff that happens is pretty cool. And even when they don't find much of anything, the show is still pretty entertaining. The episode where they were in the asylum and Grant's body heat detector was picking up the image of an apparition in a locker (you could clearly make out a man wearing a Civil War era hat) while the main cameras saw nothing was really freaky.

i think i like that part the best--how they try and disprove stuff, rather than be all like "that's definitely a ghost," you know?

It is an addicting show. What gets me is that the founders of TAPS do all that Ghost Hunting for free, while having day jobs for Roto-Rooter.

I'll watch the new shows, but I won't watch the reruns.

I doubt anyone would pay them money to see if they have ghosts. TAPS needs to get a legitimate psychic on their team to help them.

They don't want a legitimate psychic (and what exactly is a 'legitimate' psychic anyway?). They are trying to find physical proof of paranormal activity.

A legitimate psychic has the ability to talk with ghosts (dead people who don't realize they are dead & have not made it to Heaven), spirits (dead people who have made it to Heaven), & other paranormal activity such as premonitions, psychometry, spotting vortexs or imprints, etc al. The psychic can help explain the phenomenon TAPS can pick up on their cameras. TAPS is limited just by trying to pick up paranormal activity without a psychic to explain said activity.

The psychic needs to know absolutely nothing about the supposed haunted place to be effective; whereas, TAPS, needs to know before they set up their cameras to effective.

    Correction.

A psychic is a person who 'claims' to be able to do those things.

TAPS purpose is to find clear cut evidence of paranormal activity, evidence that they could show to anyone, anywhere, that would prove the existance. A psychic doesn't help in that goal.

All I'm saying is with all the driving, the equipment, the investigation, and the man hours to review the footage, it's quite a service for free.

You really think they don't get paid handsomely for their TV deal ? Or maybe you think their plumber work pays them enough to hire a big building for their society and hire a full time house staff to monitor calls ?

Yeah, but they were doing this before they got the TV show. And according to the bios on their web site, they never charged anyone because they wanted to be taken as legitimate investigators. I am sure that their TV deal has allowed them to get more equipment and things like that, but I don't think anyone can question their integrity.
