    Default Grimm Fairy Tales

    Anyone reading this series?

I just bought and read the first four issues. Thought it had potential but, since the stories are limited to only one issue ... it seems like they're not fleshed out enough.

    Any thoughts?

    I dropped it.

Its just a basic retelling of the Fairy tales, with so-so art. Which is a shame because that's not what was advertised. It billed itself as something else, something more.

    Good covers though.

Hi y'all, Christian Beranek here. I just signed on as marketing director for Zenescope, the publishers of Grimm Fairy Tales. I'll have a preview of Issue 5 online soon. I think you'll like the direction the series is going, especially from an artistic standpoint.

I hope you'll stick around and see what we have to offer!

Wow CB, I guess this is your big job news you mentioned on the BB.

As for the books, I've thoroughly enjoyed everything Zenescope has put out so far. Grimm Fairy Tales, Jindai, and Sins Of The Fallen: The Nightstalker.

I think Zenescope is doing a fine job with their books.

Christian, do we have to wait until the preview to see this new direction? Or can you clue us in now?

Sure, I'll hook you up with a teaser page from issue 5:

Another tidbit: Josh Medors (Fused, Runes of Ragnan, G.I. Joe/Transformers) is pencilling one of the future issues.

    Thanks for looking!

Looks worthy of picking it back up.

I've gotten them all so far. Its obviously not reinventing the wheel, but they're good books for what they are. I'd very much like to seee the series branch out & give us something more than just presenting the classic all-known "GrimmTales".
I plan to hang for a couple more issues, then if things dont improve I'll bail. Again, it's not that the books are bad, just that there's a LOT of really good books on the market currently & we cant buy them all.

I really liked the Sleeping Beauty issue. I just read it today. Are we going to get an explanation about the "mysterious" woman at the end reclaiming the book?
