Ororo Munroe: I have no powers, my body cannot fly. But I no longer mind, for in my heart and soul -- where it truly matters -- I soar higher than the stars!
Yeah he needs to come back.
I was never a fan of his robotic arm though.

He needs to come back an start up the X.S.E again tbh. Say fuck Hope, get funding from his sweet lady Val Cooper and start policing again. Dealing with some of those anti-mutant loose ends from M-Day and Utopia and whatnot, other dimensional government drama, super powered threats around the globe, heck even throw in a mutant terrorist that Cooper is secretly holding.
Idk who I would get to write the book though. Obvious would be David Hines cause I dug his Bishop in District X but I would like to see someone new tackle Bish. Maybe Parker or Pak. I loved his War Machine and could see him doing some great things with mutant cop leader Bishop.

With Dazzler and the alt-reality folks running around in Xtreme X-men, I hope they find Bish at the end of the time stream and bring him back to his proper senses. *crosses fingers*

I miss the Bishop who was in Claremont's X-TREME X-MEN and ReLoaded Uncanny run.
That was the first time I really got to see the guy under all the SCARY BLACK DUDE clichés. And you know what? I really liked him. :)
Then Messiah CompleX came along, and I swear to God Bishop was replaced by an alternate-reality version of himself.
I think it'd be awesome if they found Bishop in a warehouse somewhere, bound, collared, and gagged, with both his arms and none of Crazy-Bishop's "HOPE MUST DIE NO MATTER WHO ELSE DIES WITH HER" bs.
And don't get me wrong, I'm no great fan of Hope. I just don't like that Crazy-Bishop was willing to wipe out billions to get to her. No way is that the same guy who helped Neal Sharra to cope with his grief after Psylocke died.
Or *speculation* he might be the leader of the new Brotherhood of Mutants in UXF. Which I'm totally here for.

Awesome Bishop sketch by my buddy Dave Wachter from his appearance at Phantom of the Attic Comics in Oakland, Pittsburgh, PA for FCBD. More sketches here.
So true, Bishop was a character who grew so much more than I expected. It was never a matter of being scary vs being the tough guy with a heart of gold, Bishop was never really typecast. That is what made watching him evolve so wonderful. You really never knew what to expect. The genocidal guy was just Marvel playing a wonderful character against a Summers to make them look questionable against the Summers of the day. Bishop would just be one of many casualties in the Summer's family megalomania parade Marvel seems intent on cramming down our throats.
