I've heard that websites that host google ads get money when people click on the ads. This helps support the cost of many sites so they don't have to pay out ot thier own pockets or ask for donations. You get differant ads depending on the subject matter of the site you visit. So click on the ads occasionally to support your favorite site , or not.
