    Default Wigstock: Marvel Style, Girl!

We all know how much Marvel loves their little reputation for being the mainstream comic book company that brought realism to superheroes. Let's play with that idea a little. Drag queens love emulating famous female singers and celebrities in their acts. In the Marvel universe, it stands to reason that drag queens probably incorporate superheroines (even villainesses) into their routines.

Tell me which heroines or villainesses you find most likely to be imitated by female impersonators! Please vote and then share why you thought that particular character might inspire the most drag. :D

    Is there any doubt?
She-Hulk(larger than life, power and beauty, the ultimate "glamazon" factor), Spider-Woman (the "fabulous" costume factor and the whole dark and mysterious allure thing)

Maybe Wasp and Scarlet Witch (I bet drag queens would appreciate the headdress?)

Edited to add Storm...definitely a strong visual....very striking and memorable...
And Medusa...imagine all the creatively-shaped wigs and headpieces....

She-Hulk is a natural, but I voted for Storm because the drag queens often root for the misunderstood, tragic heroines. Who would qualify more than a mutant who has been publicly denounced as an outlaw? The commanding presence of Storm, the distinctive look (flowing white hair, the cape and thigh-highs), and her regal bearing would certainly inspire great drag!

Well, I guess in that respect Spider-Woman also fits...she has had a history of being misunderstood, manipulated and abused...and she always comes out on top.
You are right...I was just thinking about physical stuff, but I had forgotten that drag queens tend to gravitate to women with incredible stories of drama, tragedy and triumph...

Still, though, She-Hulk is a dynamic choice! The green skin, the fabulous hair, the outrageous sense of style, the daring way Jen carries herself--all these traits would sing to the MU drag queen! Not to mention the parody that would come out of Shulkie's relationship to her famous cousin.

I'm rolling with the Scarlet Witch on this one. Old school outfit with red nylon stockings and red lipstick. An outfit fit for a Queen.

Too true! Wanda's easily a strong contender! Most of these women have such fabulous hair, you just KNOW that Storm, Shulkie, Wanda, or Spider-Woman could run away with the polls for that reason alone! Although I bet that Ms. Marvel gets a special nod of the be-wigged head on the Fourth of July!

I don't see any Queens dressing up like Titania. She's too manly.

    Emma Frost without a doubt.

Big boobs, lingerie costume, blonde. Need I say more.

And she a SLUT. (I forgot that part)

Emma will be the NEW celebrity for the MU drag queens. She's only gone public w/an X-Woman in the last 2 years or so in Marvel time. However, the "White Queen" will be IMMENSELY popular with them, since she's easily the "Sam" (of Sex & The City) of the Marvel world!

I thought of Titania's big hair, bad attitude, plus the thigh-highs and spikes! Not to mention the million or so VERY public brawls with She-Hulk! C'mon, admit it, couldn't you see the parodied "catfights" with queens dressed up like Shulkie and Titania?

Still, if I could edit the poll to include Emma and Dazz, I would! :o

Titania and She-hulk's "manliness" is actually great for the purposes of drag...Can you imagine big, muscular guys dressed as the two enemies, during NY's Wigstock parade?
Throw in Thundra and Sabra, and that's a quartet of Power Queens I would love to see!

LOL! I LOVE it! Macy's Thanksgiving parade should go with that theme this year!
