    Default Hard to Find Tpbs?

I'm trying to compile a list of Hard to Find/Out of Print DC comic tpbs that might be worth tracking down. Some of them are well-written and some are........not so good. If anyone can help me out that would be great. Here are some that are getting harder and harder to find...

    Nightwing: Ties that Bind
    Thrillkiller
    LoDK: Dark Legends.

It can be DCU, WSU, Vertigo, etc.
DCU: Superman, Action Comics, Manhunter, Batman, Detective, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Teen Titans, Outsiders, Nightwing, Birds of Prey, Robin, Jonah Hex, JSA Classified, JSA, JLA Classified, Catwomen, Blue Beetle, Superman/Batman, Supergirl, Hawkgirl, Green Lantern Corp, and Checkmate.

Vertigo/WSU: Hellblazer, 100 Bullets, Loveless, DMZ, Crossing Midnight, Fables, Authority, Deathblow, Gen13, Wetworks, Deadman

I know of only one (maybe 2) hard to find TPB's.

The one that I'm referring to is Byrne's Man of Steel TPB.

A few years ago DC held a contest that sent out only 1 of these to comic shops(much like retailers incentive issues). It has a Blue binder with the S logo on the front. It also comes with a letter from DC stating it was a contest. The last I looked in Overstreet it's worth about $80 U. S. dollars because of the rarity of it.

I found mine on eBay for about $15.

Try getting some of the Batman animated TPBs that Bruce Timm and Paul Dini worked on. Damn thing needs a reprint so I dont have to have bid wars on Ebay.

Batman: Legacy tends to get quite pricey on eBay so that must be rare

Batgirl: Silent Running tpb is a bit pricey too. Collects first six issues of Batgirl and has been out of print for awhile.

Vertigo/WSU: Hellblazer, 100 Bullets, Loveless, DMZ, Crossing Midnight, Fables, Authority, Deathblow, Gen13, Wetworks, Deadman

One option with some used book sellers is to sign up for notifications. Powell's.com, for example, carries a lot of used trades. You have two options there. You can sign up for a daily email of what they added to their stock each day. So it will be only used (not new) and only graphic novels (which means a lot of manga to slog through). So then you have first dibs as things come in. Also you can request e-mail notification on specific titles. I'm pretty sure they send out those even before the daily list.

That Batman: Blind Justice DC Diamond Retailer Convention edition is pretty pricey, too. Actually, a copy of the Man of Steel "gift" and/or "raffle" edition sold a little more than a year ago for $1000. I sold my Blind Justice edition for $750.
Those are extremely rare. I mean, extremely, EXTREMELY rare. Current DC officials didn't even know those Man of Steel gift editions were issued (they're just the complete issues of the six-issue Man of Steel mini rebound in one collection under a generic cover; even the covers are intact on the individual issues inside). Many people don't know what they've got, because there's a mix-up in Overstreet with the Man of Steel and I don't think the Blind Justice trade is listed correctly, either.
Try finding the Hawkman trade paperback reprinting the early Hawkman appearances in Brave and the Bold. Warlord: Savage Empire is tough to find, too. The (DC) Art of Walt Simonson is a great and very tough to find tpb.
Hawkworld is a tough trade to locate these days, as is Jonah Hex: Two Gun Mojo. There's also a trade paperback reprint of the Kaluta Shadow series that I have yet to find. Deathstroke the Terminator was one of the toughest trades I've had to find. There was a glut of trades in the early to mid-1990s and many of those have been forgotten or overlooked. But, some of those are tough to find and, I predict, will go up in value in the coming years.

DC also did a limited edition 'thank you' to retailers print of the Death of Superman trade, with platinum coloured trade dress. That seems to go for a bit on Ebay.
