Not me, but I really want to get my lip done.
At one point, I had 10 piercings which dwindled down to 7 for various reasons. I have a friend who's a professional body piercer, and when she first started out I was her pin cushion. No tattoos though. If I ever get one done I want to draw my own because I want it to mean something.
Friends who pierce are great. I used to do that for my mates when I was a teenager but I didn't really know what I was doing so a couple of times I landed myself in some trouble with that. My wife designed most of her tattoos herself. She's really into that. I've yet to design one myself though.Originally Posted by leigh_ann1982

There was a point where I had somewhere around fourteen piercings--now I'm down to four for various reasons (not counting my ears, because if I put any earing with heft in them, they stretch right back to half-inch holes). I've only got four tattoos, but one is a half-sleeve.
I really wish I had a digital camera so I could take pictures of that tattoo.
I recognized you the first time we met because you mentioned you had a tattoo on your leg. Well, that and you were using your cell.Originally Posted by Ed Cunard
See, I want a tatoo to cement my geek pride and I was considering either an Imperial Storm Trooper symbol tatoo, that six sided thing (the Trucker in Full Throttle had one :-) ) or, for any Warhammer 40,000 players out there, a stencil style Imperial Aquila Eagle. The tatoo would go on my right shoulder on the anterior delt.
Well, if we're going to go into proposed tattoos... :)Originally Posted by Goliath

I'm still trying to think of a way to have a geek tattoo of some form, but I'm having trouble of coming up with a way I'd find pleasing. I've thought about getting random panels from certain books, but I'm not sure how that would look on the skin. I've also thought of doing a twist on the Sailor Jerry girl art tattoos, having the surrounding material keeping in with the old school tattoo vibe, but have the girl be a Chynna Clugston-Major, Jaime Hernandez or Fabio Moon image.
I don't have any tattoos. And the only thing I've ever had pierced is my ears and they have probably closed up by now. I'm allergic to even the hypo-allergenic expensive jewelry so it's just not worth it.
When the face piercing was first really getting going in the late 80s, high school for me, I already had office jobs to pay for college so it just wouldn't have been worth it. Always liked the eyebrow look, though. Now, it's just way too stereotypical. And it's a huge deal for "next-gen" librarians to have piercings and tattoos to prove how progressive and un-frumpy they are, and I automatically rebel against that because it's it's own kind of -- and hypocritical to boot -- conformity.
That's pretty much why I took out anything facial, including my ear spacers--greed won out over pretty (well, beauty, eye of the beholder, all that).Originally Posted by K'Nort

Two piercings in my left ear....had one in the right too, but it didn't get permanent as I had to remove what I wore in it when I was in the army.
Other than that I have no more piercings and zero tats. I do want one or maybe two nipple piercings though....will happen in the future.

four years later in Latin America and it hurt like all hell 'cause the piercer was real slow. It healed up perfectly in the end though so I can't coomplain. I think the Latin piercer was so slow because he hadn't ever had any piercings done himself. He was completely without a piercing of any sort yet here he was pushing needles into my nipples. I think if he'd had some piercings himself he may have realised how utterly painful it can be when done so slowly. It has to be done like ripping off a band-aid. Line it up perfect then POW!! Fun!
I must say though, the pirecer in question was totally clean and hygenic.
If you can make sure they're eqipment is clean then you're doing well.

I almost did it last year, I was at an erotica convention and you could have yourself pierced there. At the stand there was a woman, well into her 40's...maybe 50's even who walked around with her bare boobs....and both pierced of course, as a walking and talking advertisement for what she practised...........of course it was all very clean and she was very friendly too and open to any questions you might have had. It was because of time I didn't proceed, but told my wife I would probably want it someday and she's perfectly fine with it. Of course you're right, it has to be done as clean as possible of course and by someone very experienced.....I wouldn't do it otherwise.Originally Posted by Tucker Denim
