Thanks for taking the time to make that list.
I already knew about Borges and Kirby influencing Morrison but some of the names on the list are new to me. I'll have to look them up.
I'm pretty sure there are Bronze Age issues as well which show Superman travelling through time. Superman's power levels are not a problem. It's their perception of who Superman is "supposed" to be...
Those are superficial similarities. Superman working at the Daily Planet isn't exclusive to the Silver Age; that's pretty much how it's been since the character's inception, except for the Bronze...
There's a Byrne interview where he mentions that his version of Krypton was inspired from the Donner films. I'm sure it's there somewhere online...
Why is the the Reeve Superman being likened to the Silver Age Superman? They are not really all that similar. In fact, the movies were an inspiration for the John Byrne version of the mythos....
I'm not American but I woke up this morning and this was the headline in the newspaper. This is fucking terrible. :(
I have no issues with Jon Kent's line. I really liked the trailer but then again, Snyder's movies always have impressive trailers. I hope the movie delivers.
Batman Inc. easily. It's one of the best superhero comics being put out right now.
Yeah, that kind of attitude is silly. I live in India and Tintin is still very popular here. In fact, the average person here is more likely to recognize Tintin than Batman.
Hey, I'm sorry to have contributed in derailing the thread. I read the articles in your original post now. I think it's interesting how easily dismissive Moore seems of Morrison considering he claims...
I completely disagree that Final Crisis had no great moments. The entire book is a beautiful ode to superheroes and how fiction has the power to affect us in positive ways. Sure, it has its flaws but...
Absurd. Those were all great moments.
The Lady from Shanghai
I'm not a huge noir fan but I really liked this. I think I'm going to watch Touch of Evil next.
Seven Soldiers was brilliant. Final Crisis was great but flawed.
I don't think that's entirely true although that might help enrich one's reading. I haven't read all of Morrison's past work myself and I was able to grasp what he was getting at just fine. I'll...
I think that's debatable. Personally, I find The Filth to be Morrison's best work.
As far as the topic is concerned, I personally enjoy works from both writers and don't really care for the...
I would love a Flash: Earth One book by Morrison. He's mentioned in interviews that the Flash was his favourite superhero growing up so the idea isn't that incomprehensible.
Gothic is definitely worth reading and it also serves as a thematic precursor to Morrison's later Batman work.
Just wanted to make my first post saying this is my current favorite superhero comic and it's been consistently awesome. This issue was no exception.
