BTW, I understand newsprint's actually more costly to print comics on because most modern printers can't handle it without tearing it apart.
Mike Allred mentioned that he switched to glossy paper...

Uhh... won't not stocking a highly desired book force customers to go elsewhere for it -- perhaps online?
While I really enjoy Brian's column and perspective, I think this is sort of sad -- if...
I liked this topic, but may I suggest another column idea, Brian?
You've pointed out the numerous problems in the business models of the
Big Two, but if you were suddenly in charge, what would...
Right -- if you don't want something, you don't want it at any price.
But there is a middle ground between "don't want it no matter what" and "I'll pay any price for it!" There are plenty of...
Well, kinda...
I frequent my LCS for monthly books and get the occassional trade there... but when it comes to the big purchases, I go online.
An easy example is the recent Simonson Thor...
I agree, but I think any reader has a right to drop a book for whatever reason they want. I think it's perfectly rational to have read Ultimatum and say to yourself, "You know, this line isn't going...
It's bizzarre that Loeb has been made the mastermind of the Ultimate line... it seems that he's the one who screwed it up to begin with.
Thanks, guys.
Also, what happened with Nick Fury not being in charge of SHIELD? Was that in Ultimates 2? I haven't read it in years... thanks.
I'm a pretty casual reader of the Ultimate line but am a huge fan of Ultimates and Ultimates 2 by Millar. I reread Ultimates 3 last night and am curious about some of the changes to the characters--...
Damn, I'm sorry to see PD go.
It's the only online column I read regularly; it offered unique insight into the medium of comics as well as popular Western culture. It often challenged my...
Oh, I imagine we'll still be fighting terrorists for quite some time.
The one thing that confuses me is-- why did Frank tack on the whole Dick Grayson thing at the end? Didn't really seem to fit in with the overall narrative.
I gotta say that I really wish someone else would have inked and colored Frank's art on DKSA. It looked really gaudy and bizarre. Art-wise, it was a bold experiment but ultimately a failure, IMO.
Frank Miller used to me my favorite overall comic book creator, but after all Star Batman and The Spirit, it's getting pretty hard to get excited about his stuff. Especially since he didn't ever...
Reading another CBR column this week has me curious about Steve's thoughts on the project, but a quick search of previous columns has yielded nothing.
Never before have I so anxiously awaited the next Permanent Damage.

I think Koko B. Ware had a vettical suplex piledriver as a finisher-- he called it the "Ghostbuster" for some reason.
Yeah, that's way off.
I think the mark of a great villain is the challenge he presents to the hero and sometimes the reader themself.
Bret's thoughts on Kurt Angle--

Here's another pic of Bret leaning further back into the sharpshooter.

BTW, Steven, have you read Bret's autobio put out last year? It's supposed to be very good.
Thjat said, Grant, I gotta say I'm enjoying the hell outta the Hart DVD you recommended. I'm getting a greater appreciation for his run in the WWF and can't deny that I'm being entertained by the...
