Casting in the 60s is a different story. The film/television industry is far more diverse now, and isn't as white-washed as it was in the old days.
Also, lol, it's ridiculous that you're trying to...
Agreed. I wasn't alive in the 60s, but I grew up watching TOS and loved it. I have absolutely no problem with the reboot.
The new film was just as good as the previous one, but in some ways...
It's worth watching to see a young Tom Hardy in an excellent performance. I particularly enjoy watching the scenes between himself and Patrick Stewart.
But, yeah, Nemesis was pretty bad, and I...
I'd suggest reading all 3 titles (Harbinger Wars, Bloodshot, & Harbinger). Each issue of this event/cross-over has been pretty good so far.
I'm surprised this thread almost has universal praise for this issue. I thought it was horrible, especially that schlop of dialogue between Natasha and the others while they were discussing strategic...
That's always a good thing to do. I haven't read Ostrander's original run in a long time. After I finish reading New Frontier, I might revisit one of the most underrated late 80s/early 90s DC titles.
He definitely does a slow-burn, and I often find dialogue-driven sections (Of which are usually the majority) more engaging in his books than his action scenes.
A book like Checkmate would be...
I found the "King Shark has killed 3 guards" bit to be kind of lame. Otherwise, I liked the preview and am looking forward to this run.
Best book of the Dark Reign era? If you mean books which comprised of the Dark Reign storyline, that's not saying much. If you mean all of Marvel, or, dare I say it, all of comicdom, during that...
No....Just no.
Dark Avengers was the only good thing Bendis did where the Avengers are concerned, but the only reason it was worth reading was because of Deodato's art and the fact that Bendis...
I didn't see anything Valkyrie said as demeaning. *shrug*
She was a bit haughty with her comments, though. I find it hard to believe Val would be disappointed, intellectually, when conversing with...
Ah, but when he hits, he hits like the fist of an angry god.
So far, I wouldn't bother delving back in if I were you. It's still more of the same, albeit with added storyline development & characterization.
Not to mention the fact that the series is so popular the first issue is priced outrageously for a comic which has only been around for about a year. I've seen it at comic shops for $140-$200.
I...
I thought it was alright. The book definitely has potential.
What underwhelmed me was the disappointing cliff-hanger (If you can call it that)........One of the characters apparently overdosed on...
Apparently, he has a gut-wrenching problem with alternate universe characters existing within actual alternate universes. *shrug*
I consider Doctor Manhattan to be the best book, Minutemen second.
The rest are average to bad, depending on the title.
Either that or it's Dan Didio in disguise.
I second the Sandman (by Neil Gaiman) suggestion.
I'd say also check these comics out:
All-Star Superman (Grant Morrison)
Watchmen (Alan Moore)
V For Vendetta (Alan Moore)
Supreme Power (J...
I haven't read the Avengers titles Hickman has been writing, but I did read his Fantastic Four run. The dialogue in his FF run was fantastic, so Hickman has strength in that department.
It is...
Monsieur Mallah & The Brain
Scandal Savage & Knockout
Tim Drake & Tamara Fox
I concur.
Besides, he's obviously far too intelligent to be swayed into reading DC titles. Any suggestions are pointless.
I felt the same way about Dr. Manhattan, it was my favorite book out of the BW line (The only other title I truly liked was Minutemen), and it was worthy of being involved in the Watchmen...
I thought Dr. Manhattan was memorable and pretty much the only BW title which added depth to the original storyline. I feel somewhat the same way about Minutemen....The rest of the titles, aside from...
You liked Moloch? I thought the first issue wasn't bad, while the second issue was extremely dull/unmemorable. I felt similar, yet worse, about Silk Spectre, in that I liked the first issue but found...
