Just saying ...
Yeah, that is very true. They just seem more like a gang of friends having fun, running around the neighborhood playing pranks on Halloween than any serious threat to anyone. They remind me of a gang...
I'm surprised nobody said Riddler yet as that was the first thing to come to my mind.
Scarecrow could also work as long as it has a good writer like Lemiere or Azzarelo.
They might as well...
Please fill me in on all the insightful analysis you've provided throughout this thread that I've somehow missed ...
The premise of the thread is basically:
" I don't 'get' the hype of these so-called comic books. I can read books WITHOUT pictures and I'm proud of myself for that. Everybody else needs pictures...
Nolan took it all WAY too seriously! They are three of the worst "superhero" movies ever made because of that. Batmen Begins was okay, the other two are horrendous in so many ways.
That's a fact? REALLY???
Show me once where one fan ever said that ... Apparently ...
The people who you associate with probably talk like this all the time, I have no doubt of that.
However, please show me one reasonably intelligent batman/dc comics fan who thinks/talks this...
Clearly you are the only true Hero here.
Good work, TimberBear. Keep fighting the good fight.
Replacing Christian Bale with Ben Affleck, yes I'm serious.
Oh wow, I mean ... just ... WOW?!?!?!
I mean like ... are you serious ... w o w . . .
Please tell me this whole thread is supposed to be a joke.
"Are the Endless relevant?" is like asking "Is Joker crazy?" or "Can Superman be powerful?" or "Did/does Batman care about his parents'...
Unfortunately the Walking Dead tv show is very poorly written.
He's also currently writing Brother Lono (100 Bullets.) It's awesome, you should check it out.
Even if he wasn't though, how in the blue hell do you know how much "free time" the man has?
Not only is Tim the worst Robin but he's the worst character in Batman history, possibly DC history.
I completely agree with this sentiment in general.
Their whole business philosophy seems to be, "Act before you think. It's Marvel so it just doesn't really matter."
Just out of curiosity, who would you prefer they had play Batman instead? That's a serious question because, other than Keaton, he's by far the best choice they've had yet.
Also, specifically how...
I agree with this but I would put Miéville and Fialkov up there with Azarello if possible.
Ding - ding.
Reynolds was a perfect casting choice.
Oh, it definitely is. Sorrentino's art is actually probably even more impressive than Lemire's writing.
So since I, Vampire got canceled I guess Joshua Hale Fialkov doesn't count? Same with China Miéville and Dial H?
In that case it's the usual suspects; Lemire, Snyder, Azzarello ...
Just because it isn't borderline slapstick goofiness doesn't mean it's "ultra serious."
Do you think The Watchmen book is also "pretty awful?"
You sound like you'd be better off just watching...
You are 100% wrong here, objectively.
Uh ... what?
Is that supposed to be some kind of joke???
Anyone know if Soule's work on Red Lanterns is anywhere close to as good as it is on Swamp Thing?
