If it means anything, Supergirl has been excellent. Exceptionally different from what has come before. If you liked the Silver/Bronze Age Supergirl, you may not like this take on her. If you liked...
I have said this since the beginning of the New 52, Supergirl is the one book that really did do something different and remarkable. Even with the revolving writers, this book has been great. These...
While I think this happened because there were three artists and two(I think, I don't have the book in front of me so I can't check) inkers, I have seen this same problem with Jimmy Olsen. He looks...
I really enjoyed this issue, the art was uneven but the writing was consistent and I liked the villains. This was a bit more traditional, but there was an energy in the story that was lacking...
I actually think "Baltimore" is really well written. You should try it.
But yes, Mignola drawing Darksied now would be epic.
I didn't say it above, but the other artists you mention here draw a great Darksied too. Each brings thier own take to the character and yet manages to communicate the 'Regal Menace' that he exudes.
After Kirby, who the Poll acknowledges is the Supreme Darksied artist, I pick Walt Simonson also.
Take a look at the Fourth World cover where its just the head shot. (issue 10, 1997)....
I can't speak for the crowd because I always seem to be in the minority. FREAKING AWESOME is how I describe it though.
There was a blend of some Silver Age majesty with some Post Crisis...
Yeah, it seems like a Homer Simpson D'Oh moment for me except when you consider that there isn't any reference to "One year Ago" from what? I still think it wouldn't kill any body at DC to just put...
Exact opposite reaction. No surprise there! I thought the main story rocked and can you even call the backup a story? I've read more complete digital previews here on CBR!
DON'T GET ME...
After reading the preview....why oh why does Diggle have to go? I really liked this! Look forward to reading the whole thing!
Yeah, the Bond explanation makes sense too. I just liked the idea and I do hope Lobdell does something with it in the future.
Like I said earlier....there isn't one new Superman book coming out...
For me, it was the scene in which Richard Pryor was synthesizing Kryptonite and it comes up some % unknown. So he puts Nicotine in it and says, "What the hell, he ain't gonna smoke it!"
Oh yeah,...
I can live with this explanation. But I simply like it more when you spend some time getting to know the villain, what makes them tick, maybe some kind of demonstration of power...I mean it's...
I just finished the first 4 issues of DC Comics Presents from the 70's and boy is the JLGL art in those books great. His Lois, particularly in issue 3, is gorgeous.
I don't know if he could do a...
I saw Lobdell's strength's and weaknesses in this issue.
I thought the party was well done, and I don't have a problem at all with the way it was scripted. This is the kind of interpersonal stuff...
I was looking for an appropriate place to comment on the passing of Carmine Infantino and I couldn't find one. So I am starting one here.
Carmine Infantino's Superman loved to race the Flash....
A better writer would have made this much clearer. I am not even sure your explanation is correct.
And then Morrison turns around in an interview and says that the whole thing was just "thrown...
Not to mention the fact that Morrison completely ripped off Peter Pan for his resolution to the story.
Yes, comics should be fun and they aren't right now. The thing is, Morrison's run didn't...
My complaint with Lobdell is that he didn't pay off the H'el story arc....not really in my view. And he turned around and introduced more stuff in the latest issue and we have no idea where its going...
And if we all clap, Tinkerbell will come back to life.
Was this about Superman? Really? Or was it about Mxy?
Was this the best way to reboot Superman?
If I get time, I will post the things...
While I agree with you about the conclusion, my point earlier was that this was a very salvagable enterprise. I wanted to like this crossover...but the creative team, includeing editorial, needs to...
I think Lobdell did some things right and somethings wrong. I feel the same way about Rockafort. The way I break it down is that I don't think the story was stretched too thin...I think there wasn't...
I really enjoyed this preview and the fact that Lobdell is taking the time to recap the story in an interesting way. Any body could pick this up and figure out what is going on and enjoy the...
