Chris Claremont didn't seem to have a problem, but then his comics were a lot better.
Elseworlds:
The Nail / Another Nail
Superboy's Legion
(Alan Davis makes everything good)
What If...?:
"What if Doctor Doom became a hero?"
Didn't some of the stories continue from issue to issue, though?
Not true. I've sold plenty of adult comics on eBay and never encountered any kind of warning or restriction about shipping to certain states. To other countries, yes, but not within the U.S.
I don't really have any stories per se, but I guess I can show some of my stuff.
Doug Moench and Mike Manley did a signing tour for Batman #500. To be honest I didn't really care about that...
Oh man, I'd be first in line to see Bill S! He's the tops! I'd bring my Elektra Omnibus, and maybe New Mutants #21.

I only vaguely remember him from The Defenders.
I enjoyed Alias, except for the fact that every one of the story arcs completely fizzled out at the end.
Daredevil was better.
I don't recall whether sodomy was involved, but in The Killing Joke Jim Gordon is stripped and humiliated, possibly more graphically than Barbara was, but people only remember Barbara's ordeal (I...
That show was loaded with comic book references. The one where Elaine dates a secretive (later discovered to be poor) man is filled with them (the guys speculate that he might have a secret identity...
I like that sort of thing myself. I already mentioned the Injustice Gang (Luthor, Joker, Circe, Doctor Light and Ocean Master) but there was also the Secret Society of Super-Villains from the...
Villains are there to be a threat to the heroes. It shouldn't matter whether it's a "nobody" or not.
They can probably do whatever Darkseid wants them to do but we've seen them transport...
The ones I had were silver (and the Hawkmoon novels were gold) but I've seen the white ones and I don't like them as much.
That and they don't stand out much from other sword & sorcery that was out there. The Gould style shaped how I viewed everything while I was reading the books. A sort of art deco (I think that's...
The only thing bugged me about the Joker story was his "Why not?" at the end. I know, he's crazy, but I wanted more of an explanation.
I really liked the "indecent proposal" story.
The thing...
The responses on this thread are great!
I read a few of the Pacheco issues. His art has a smooth, clean style like Alan Davis' that I like. The Diablo issue was good; IIRC it echoed the first issue of Byrne's run, with the elementals. ...
One of the best runs ever. I just wish they'd include Milligan's brief arc in the omnibus as well.
I couldn't really get into the new House of Mystery. I often liked the insert stories better than the ongoing one. It's not a bad book, just not for me.
I loved House of Secrets, though.
Why would you think old art isn't that great? The art varies wildly from arc to arc so everyone is going to have a different opinion. Personally, I like Sam Kieth's art. It gives the book a nice...
I'd agree that you should just start from the beginning and read them all. I've read almost all of it and the only arc I didn't like was "The Fear Machine." Denise Mina's run was padded out but it...
That's pretty much how I feel. There's no question he's immensely talented, but when reading the stories I like to see art that's a bit more stylized or fantastical.
It worked in Marvels, though,...
The Fawlty Towers homage was amusing.
