This is true, but I don't see when it's been portrayed otherwise. It's often misunderstood by fans, but I think the writers have always understood this.

Superman is no *more* vulnerable to magic than are Flash and Green Lantern, etc.; it's just that his super-abilities, which make him invulnerable to just about everything else, doesn't offer him any...
