Do you guys smell a marketing bonanza?
I can already see the t-shirt variations...

These shields are pretty clever. I see another marketing bonanza for Time-Warner/DC a la the various Lantern Corps t-shirts that have become popular since 2007, except maybe even more so because...
Actually, there is a *huge* middle, and I'll presume to speak for it.
I grew up with the classic Superman suit. For decades, it was the only Superman costume I knew, and I had no complaints...
Come to think of it, I don't think Reeve or Routh's Superman ever referred to himself as "Superman" in the dialogue across five films.
Buried Alien (The Fastest Post Alive!)
I got it; it *still* needed to be said why it couldn't reasonably be a gun, though.

In a very unstable New 52 DCU, THE FLASH has stood out as a rock of stability. I hope it stays that way.

Kryptonians evidently *really* like their diamond-shaped ceremonial shields.
Buried Alien (The Fastest Post Alive!)
Nah.
1). Superman doesn't need one to take down Batman.
2). A gun is only effective against Batman if he isn't ready for it.
Buried Alien (The Fastest Post Alive!)
I strongly urge you to do so.

Anyone think the "Batman" box held a mirror?
Buried Alien (The Fastest Post Alive!)
Well, this thread has definitely jumped the shark.

Now everybody chill before I need to use...
This is true, but I don't see when it's been portrayed otherwise. It's often misunderstood by fans, but I think the writers have always understood this.
It's not that Superman is *specifically*...
The only thing I can come up with is a can of Anti-Batman Spray.
Buried Alien (The Fastest Post Alive!)
I'm curious, though: how would either a gun or a letter stop an out-of-control Batman?
Buried Alien (The Fastest Post Alive!)
Superman is no *more* vulnerable to magic than are Flash and Green Lantern, etc.; it's just that his super-abilities, which make him invulnerable to just about everything else, doesn't offer him any...
*Straps on bass guitar; begins to play.*
*Sings.*
You'd think that people would've had enough of superhero books,
I look around me and I see, it isn't so.
Some people want to fill the world...
The "real" DCU is a Platonic ideal.
Buried Alien (The Fastest Post Alive!)
Yeah...I think it's a good time for a little less Dark Knight, and a little more Caped Crusader.

I overlooked John Cho's performance as Sulu in my earlier remarks, which is embarrassing because his Sulu was (with all due respect to the great George Takei) badass. I *loved* that part when Sulu...
I liked this better than the previous STAR TREK film because I felt in this second movie, the actors were much more comfortable in their characters. This time, the cast did better work than they did...
Within reasonable limits, we encourage freedom of expression and participation. We only moderate when things become immoderate, in our judgment.

The Christopher Reeve SUPERMAN films of the 1970s and 1980s portrayed Superman as (other than his cousin Supergirl) the only superhero in the world. No hint existed that the world of the Reeve...
Barry was sort of the first domino to fall. In 1979, DC killed his wife; then, in 1983-1985, DC put him on trial for murder. These were new developments for DC characters at the time, though Marvel...
I don't follow WONDER WOMAN regularly, so I don't really know what Diana's situation was in the year or two leading up to FLASHPOINT, but I imagine that it wasn't...great...nothing that would make...
