I mentioned it - and liked it. It had a great, unusual villain and some genuinely creepy moments. Wasn't so keen on Joker's (brief but memorable) appearance, but the Dollmaker was good.
Less keen...
I like and own both FoD and CoO - so I would recommend both, esp at 50% off. If you really can't afford both, I'd go for CoO and then go back and buy FoD as soon as you can!
Don't venture in here much as I'm not much of a Superman comic fan, but always had a soft spot for the TV series "Lois And Clark". As it's the 20th anniversary this year, just wondered if any other...
Heaven forbid a cartoon about superheroes is there to keep kiddies happy!
That period of comics, save for the odd issue, have never been worth very much. On ebay, I picked up loads of them for what essentially works out at 10p-20p each, esp from say #430 - 600.
Definitely Keaton.
I'm in the UK too, and just buy Titan's reprint comic. The stories are a few months behind the US, but each issue reprints 3x US stories working out at about £1 each.
I agree. As a UK Bat-fan, I'd love a website that gave (for example) the history of Batman comics in the UK, what's currently being printed (e.g. Titan's collected reprint comics) and other...
Definitely All-Star Batman & Robin, no contest. This was the most dreadful story of the available options. No redeeming qualities.
No.
He really, really didn't. Some of us were quite happy that the previous seven decades had defined Batman rather well already... and that Morrison, though an OK writer, is hardly the visionary...
Definitely Penguin, thanks to Meredith's memorable portrayal.
But Riddler and Catwoman are close-runners, thanks again to the the 60s show.
It wouldn't work. History has shown that when you over-use a villain (and you can't really get much more "over-use" than giving him his own ongoing!) it is almost inevitable that they end up becoming...
Remembered as the most over-rated run, may be. But most fondly remembered of all time? No way.
I'd recommend Batman, Detective Comics and Batman & Robin. All are fun in their own way.
This isn't a slight against The Dark Knight either - I've just never read it.
I haven't read "Dark Victory" yet, but doesn't it make "Year Three" somewhat void? If so, and DV is still in print, DC might be indifferent to releasing Y3.
Don't panic, according to tfw2005 the issue (with the UK, not Europe) is being resolved and you'll be able to get them soon, if not already.
Wow, a real tough question. I'm not sure I have "just one", but here we go with some sort of top 3 (or 4!):
1) Batman '89/Batman Returns
2) Batman: The Animated Series
3) Batman of the 1970s...
I voted for "Modern Age Part 1", but my all-time fave period is 1970-1990, which kind of straddles two of the options.
I disagree with the "waaahhh, they're all crap except Morrison who can do no wrong!" perspective.
I would recommend "Batman" first, but also see a lot to like about both "Detective Comics" and...
I went for Vicky, but really, the answer is "anyone but not Catwoman or Talia, or another baddie-type". I think Bruce deserves a nice-looking dame who's also not a villain.
What you don't seem to understand is that the "camp cheesy" Batman (I really loathe that phrase, it's far too simplistic) is just as valid as any "dark gritty" (I hate that phrase too) version that...
Have to disagree. The characterisation of Batman in the 1989 movie was wonderful. Put across all the essential elements for both Batman and Bruce Wayne, without being whiny or over the top (e.g. the...
Not completely sure - the first two episodes we got were "The Cat And The Claw Parts I & II"...I THINK that was airdate order.
Yeah, but Nolan's Bruce Wayne was also Batman for all of 5 minutes before packing away his toys in a hissy fit for EIGHT YEARS. Seriously, his career as Batman could have been no longer than 12-18...
