Anyone see them in Boston?
They were giving away free copies following the cancellation of the con!
Picked up a good stack at Comicazi. I heard they were signing there too.
Can I ask a question before I commit to buy: Is it movie-version Slimer, or cartoon-version Slimer?
So glad that someone's created a thread on this fine series!
I always recommend it to horror fans. Downloaded the Kindle version for my wife (who's man is Stephen King) - and she absolutely loved...
There was a really moving story in Twisted Dark that dealt with Munchausen's syndrome. I've never seen it represented in comic books before, it really hit a nerve and made me think about those type...
All the signs pointed to yes for me liking this series - but I admit that it didn't grab me. The children were a riot (and the bar fight was brilliantly constructed), but it felt to me to be too...
I'll give this a go. That Del Toro credential is a fine selling point.
They're modern myths as I see it - superheroes. Any writer/artist who comes on to a title is stitching their own part and history onto the tapestry. I have no problem with things retconned so long as...
Yeah same echoes from the other in this thread - anything with a bit of intrigue, really. Mind the Gap by Joe McCann is another I really like - truly gripping stuff! Or if you like other independents...
Bit of a Moore spree this time:
Top 10 by Alan Moore
Saga of the Swamp Thing by Alan Moore
Staying with DC...
New 52 Action Comics v1
A bit of Image...
Mind the Gap v1 (bought on a whim,...
Really enjoyed Court of Owls - but the Joker story turned me off. It was simply too slow for me. And the overabundance of tech in Batman's resources felt a little deus ex machina to me. Suppose I've...
Death of Spider-Man, SAGA, Things to Do in a Retirement Home Trailer Park
When You're 29 and Unemployed...
Some comics that are very affordable:
Big fan of Image:
Mind the Gap by McCann and Saga by BKV ($9.99 online - if you like thrillers - one supernatural and the other more fantasy)
If you...
Very excited for Bagley there though. Ultimate Spider-Man wasn't the same without him imo. Some good talent this year. Really looking forward to hearing what exhibitors are there this year - the...
Staying with my family in Boston - only ever been to Massachusetts for family holidays on the coast. Cried for ages to take a trip downtown to Newbury comics for my weekly fix. We'd usually get there...
This issue fell a bit short with me. That's to be expected - it's mid-way through the series. Excited for the next issue, though.
Saga is such a great read. It's good to see BKV back into the comics medium. Image on the whole are doing really well - Mind the Gap is an excellent read too.
Here is the best of what I'm currently reading:
Mind the Gap by McCann (the premise and characterisation really hooked me in)
Bedlam by Nick Spencer (Friend described it as a crazier Dark Knight...
I got quite turned off by Fables V1. Everyone else raves about it - but I simply couldn't get into it. Am I doing it wrong?
Loved the quirky design of the artwork. You're right when you describe it as "disturbing" - I can't quite make sense of it half the time. But I think that's the point. To unsettle the reader into...
Wow! Very interesting. The cartoon Winston sounded very authentic.
Also: I squirmed at the opening pages. My fiance was not liking all the cat hitting.
This comic book and Neil Gibson's Twisted Dark series are the best thing's I'm reading at the moment.
The most interesting thing for me was the crazy Gorilla on like the third page. Unimpressed by everything else in that first issue, truthfully.
