Yep, I've always read Emma with a faux british accent (Mid-atlantic accent) even before Morrison established that she has one.

I guess. I just imagined her with a cold new england aristocratic (lol) accent.

She sounded too much like a disney witch character which IMO doesn't convey the bitchiness. Hate her AXM motion comic voice though.

lol I think that's why I liked it. It was very Maleficent. I agree her motion comic voice was terrible.
I think her best voices were her voice in X-Men Legends, first and foremost and then I liked her voice in X-Men TAS.
Everything else just generally sounds cruddy.
A very sexy character. I really like her design going all the way back to her days as the White Queen.
I don't particularly agree. What made that story great for me is that Emma was able to turn something that is regarded as a weakness into a strength. Which is pretty much the story of Emma's life. And later stories prove this. Plus the author of that article does not seem to much about the X-Men, I get the impression that she doesn't know that Emma is the White Queen and Mastermind didn't even have a title.
Well, I think it was a valid interpretation of what the writer wanted to say with that particular story. Might of course be others equally as valid, contradictory or not.
It was mentioned in the blog post that Emma was White Queen and Mastermind Black King (which he was in that story, but nowhere else as I recall). Was it updated after you commented?
What the author failed to acknowledge was that Emma was not the only person rattled at the end of that bout, both her and Mastermind were at the end of the day trapped playing power games by the Hellfire Club. And she purposely cropped out Mastermind face from the final page, where he looks like he just wet himself.
He looked more like he had fought a tough match to me. Emma looked more unperturbed, but you can easily say that is because she couldn't afford to show herself vulnerable to the same degree as Mastermind could. He had that luxury (due to his gender), she did not.
I'll just clarify that I don't think she should lose her iconic looks (scantily dressed in attire at least reminiscent of underwear), such changes usually don't end up working that well. It is of course fun to see her in proper clothes every now and then, but that's maybe something better left as a rare treat, something to savor and not an everyday occurrence.
The upcoming origin story will also attempt to explain her choice in costumes. Will be interesting to see how the new explanation matches up with the previous ones. The real reason for such revealing attires in general is of course for purposes of titillation so no in-universe explanation will ever seem fully authentic. It works for Emma better than for most others though due to her origins and personality.
Nah much prefered her voice in WATXM to TAS.
Yes, metoo! (Ditto for TAS)
The voice actress from WATXM delivered an almost perfect Emma interpretation in my view.

Maybe a matter of taste? I cannot stand the "Ah":s and "Mah":s that Rogue and Cannonball continually use myself, it just looks silly. Could be it would come off better when actually said out loud instead of read off a page of course.

When i am reading emma i use her voice from x-men legends 1. Same goes for jean.
I don't think I've heard the perfect Emma voice yet.
Pyrde - All the voices were terrible
TAS - Good, not perfect... maybe too deep.
Legends - Forgetable.
W&tXM - Overall the best, but too whispery sometimes.
An english, british accent suits Emma very , very well.

Mmm, especially with New X-Men mine goes into this Legends meets TAS voice where its sort of breathy, scandal voice. Like almost a hint of Poison Ivy in Batman and Robin but when it actually sounded convincing.
I'm not sure what Jean sounds like since it's not a remarkable voice in my mind, but Storm's will always sound sort of like the TAS version. Seriously, her voice quaked like Mommie Dearest and I LOVED IT.
And her Wolverine and The X-Men voice irritates me because the British accent sounds odd. Like she pronounces things really weird, "ScOHtt" instead "ScAWtt" Plus as far as I'm concerned Emma has a deeper voice.
Does anyone have Emma Frost's pin-up pose/picture with the Astonishing look or Uncanny...??
