Have you tried letting her read Fraction's run? Not so much bitchiness there if that's a problem. Might add some others of course.
That is because Fraction has no clue how to write her properly as an ambiguous "hero", and recycles many lines ad nauseam from Morrison's run. Emma may be bitchy, but she has many other shades to her personna, of which Fraction has not mastered any.
Emma should never become BFF with anyone. That would ruin her even more than she already is. I think part of her character is that she doesnt like other women and the feeling tends to be mutual
I agree.
We haven't worked that out just yet. It might be pencilled, but he might use markers as that gives the drawing a more "finished" feel. It's about one page.
Comissions are tricky, because not everyone does them. Terry Dodson and David Yardin only take them at cons, and chances are con sketeches won't give you as much freedom to choose what you want.
Now there are some exceptions. I'm getting another piece from Nicola Scott, the artist who does Wonder Woman, and she too only does comissions at cons. Since she lives in australia though, her art manager sets up con sketches a few weeks in advance, and mails them to the buyer.
Thanks, good to know. Con sketches are pretty much out of the question for me though.
So really, if you want a piece, I'd just try contacting an artist you like.
I'll keep it in mind. Just have to think of some worthwhile motive first.

Depends on the BFF and the nature of their relationship. She could use a new apprentice as the Cuckoos are still rebellious.
But I don't think you need to worry that she'll start going shopping or exchanging girl talk with the other X-women anytime soon.

Yes, that's the other problems I referred to.

I think Firestar and Negasonic Teenage Warhead should join the X-Men.

Hope you find someone to do it for you. Did you have any particular piece in mind?

Add Kitty and you have quite a trio. Too bad NTW won't make it past Necrosha though.
(Or perhaps not, mass resurrections should be avoided)

No, I don't have any concrete plans, so I haven't considered a sufficiently worthy motive yet. Beyond the fact that it would be featuring Emma of course.
Then the next step would be finding a favorite artist doing commissions. I guess it would be too much to hope for that McNiven or Cassaday does "remote" commissions (or at all)?

I loved Mcniven's Emma when she showed up in New Avengers.

McNivens Emma in Civil War and Old Man Logan was great.
Emma does not require friends.

But I would agree with jamesfreeman, not every x-woman hates Emma and is projecting their own justified insecurities onto a more dominant, interesting personality. Rogue has never been particularly anti-Emma: I think that Kitty and Emma reached an understanding of sorts at the end of Whedon's run and when she returns, they won't necessarily be friends but I don't think there will be as much animosity between the two. Storm and Emma came to an agreement in Ellis' Astonishing, which has subsequently been ignored by Fraction.
I am amazed I forgot about those lovely panels. And i can completely understand where everyone is coming from with there comments for her not needing a BFF, you all actually bring up some good points. And now that I think of it, with the way that Fraction has characterized Emma, giving her a BFF would make her seem like a completly different character from the one that we all love.
-
This single panel is the best C&C have written her all year.

A shame that Emma won't even get to speak with Selene.

It can be done without making her seem different. I loved her portrayal in Gen X, and I felt she was close with most of her students. They certainly weren't BFFs, but it wasn't:
"Good morning Miss Frost!"
"F*ck you Everette."
So while she shouldn't be all "OMGeee!! Kitty, I love you!", I wouldn't be opposed to her being on good terms with the other X-ladies.

Can someone clear something up for me; Is or isn't Emma a "Doctor", not a medical one but I remember she held multiple degrees, but I keep thinking that she has a doctorate or two in certain fields, I think in electronics nad/or business studies?

I know! such a shame! she should have gone with them to Necrosha, Selene deserves a good ol' White-gloved bitch slap

Maybe they'll bring Selene to the brig.

it seems like Emma got the short end of the stick with Necrosha: The most Broken and with no opportunity to get her revenge
(I'm not counting Lil and Onyxx, to much bitching has been happening bc of them)
