Hey tom, i just wanted to know if the new Ultimates Series was going to be a regular ongoing series or another Mini series like the previous series have been?
I have never quite understood the point of re-starting the series over and over again, and i wish to get a proper on going series this time thank you.

Hey Tom, just wondering what Nick Fury's status in the MU will be after Secret Warriors wraps up. I keep seeing him in other titles looking all professional-like. Is he set to be part of some UN organization or otherwise?

1) There seems to be fewer and fewer prominent female characters every month. They die (Phyla-Vell, Omega Sentinel, Mystique, Wasp, Jean Grey), get sidelined (Scarlet Witch, Karma), fall from grace (Vindicator?), or are generally underutilized and under-characterized (Spider-Woman, Mockingbird, Ms. Marvel, Storm, Pixie, Magik, Black Cat). With Incredible Hulks ending, the She-Hulks will presumably be out of commission for a while. And there's only a single solo book featuring a female protagonist (X-23, which is awesome by the way). And Hope and Dani Moonstar are the only current female leaders I can think of (thank you, X-Universe!).
I don't know if it's actually getting worse or if I'm only noticing it more now. I realize that male characters have often been more prominent in this medium, but these are less and less the comics I want to read. Any chance of seeing more diversity and equality in characterization in more than just a handful of ongoing titles?
2) And aside from Ms. Liu, why aren't there more female writers and artists on ongoing titles? Kathryn Immonen, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Sara Pichelli, and others have more than proven their skills to me, the reader. I'd love to see them all on regular titles. (Whether on male or female characters.) Even stepping up as Marvel Architects. Any chance of seeing more variety in voice and style in ongoing titles?

Will you guys ever revisit the Earth X Universe? And what is the Status of you "Forever" Books like X-men forever and so forth any chance that universe gets another shot or is that concept dead for now?
Any chance we'll see Blade in the 616 before the end of the year?
Any chance to bring back the Pack, aged/continued from the original series. Recons ok. Just something that gives a similar feel that's not in the Young Readers series.

I know some have difficulties to handle ongoings (TB, CD), but it's like they never reached their potential also, and they could provide wonderful supporting cast (TB and CD again, especially the last one considering there are still hidden figures of the family who are maybe more interesting than the proeminent ones we already know) as for the (Last) Defenders we could be fixed about the definitive status of the team (one or two Nighthawks ? Can we expect the return of Dr Strange, Namor, Hulk and Silver Surfer - considering what is happening in FI- THE DEEP- and guests ?)
I'm also supporting all the posts concerning the lack of super-heroine titles (no, the new GHOST RIDER doesn't counts)
What's your opinion on the importance of books having regular artists?
On some books--like Cap during/after Steve Epting's run--a lot of effort is taken to give to artistic consistency, but on others none at all--for example, New Mutants, the second collection of which showcases six very different artists (for six issues and a prelude story). And the book's current artist, Leandro Fernandez, was announced for Hit Girl before his first issue even shipped.
In your experience or estimation, does that influence the reception of a book? What is your general strategy? And more specifically, can New Mutants get a consistent visual style, pretty please?
As of late the X-men books have been on fire, The only thing ,missing is Storm, i feel like her talents are being wasted on being married to the black panther. Will we se more of her in Schism and beyond that event?
It seems like dc is putting out 2-3 anime movies a year, where are the marvel movies? The last one we got was Thor and that was made a year ago. Is marvel not doing those types of movies any more?
With the return of the Scarlet Witch in the pages of [I]Avengers Children Crusade[/I], just how will her return affect the Avengers and the X-men when this mini-series is finish in December ? :confused:
Hi. I really enjoy reading this column every week and find it very informative. My question regards the frequency with which new issues of various series come out. As you are aware, financial times are tough on everyone and budgets are a little tighter now than they used to be. I am 37 years old with a wife and a child on the way. Because of this, I can only spend between $60 to $70/month on Marvel comics. I have a number of series that I collect that make up this budget amount. More and more frequently, Marvel is putting out 2 or 3 issues of a single series a month, which is causing me to have to either go over budget or stop buying series. I understand that Marvel wants to publish 13 or 14 issues a year, but for the month of September, of the series I collect, there are multiple issues of New Avengers (2 issues and an annual), Thunderbolts, Heroes for Hire, Journey Into Mystery, Daredevil, Wolverine, and X-Factor, not to even mention Amazing Spider-Man because that is consistently published twice a month. Those alone totalled $65.81. On top of that, there are several series just publishing 1 issue. Because my budget was so blown, I had to make the decision to not order Ultimate Spider-Man #1 and 2, because I can't afford to add another series, despite collecting the original run from the start and having it be a favorite of mine. I recently dropped Uncanny X-Men and X-Men Legacy because there were too many issues a month and the promise of more with Schism coming, ending and restarting Uncanny, and adding another team book. I never started picking up the new X-Men comic last year because it was just too much, even though the content looked interesting. Long story short, does Marvel consider at all that the frequency they are publishing various series may reduce the number of people buying those series and, in essence, help to drive down business?

However, my own research has proven that for Marvel's $2.99 books it very much is a policy. From what I can see, ALL $2.99 priced ongoings are now running at 20 pages, and the vast majority of Marvel's $2.99 priced one shots and minis are at 20 pages as well. Stephen Wacker has also confirmed that after the first issue, the standard page count for Punisher will also be 20 pages.
In light of this, do you still contend that it's not an overall policy to cut page numbers, and if it's not policy, when can we expect to see the page count INCREASE while holding the price?

I know you're still Quixotically trying to turn this into an issue anyone cares about, but we bump up regularly page counts without announcing it. And no one notices. A bad comic isn't better at 22 pages and a good is still good at 12 pages. Next to no one bases buying decisions on page count.

I don't believe it's a matter of whether you can tell a good story in 20 pages, but rather why would Mr. Brevoort lie about whether or not it's the new standard policy.
Hey Guys, What are the critieria for being 'Architects?" I assume they include being great, having a major book , being bald and/or wearing a woolie (with maybe one slot open for the "hairy" architect so Parks and Slott can serve), and having a Marvel Excusive.Will you have a Young Architects/Teen Architects team for up and comers like Maberry, Nick Spencer, Liss etc?
Finally, have you read or heard of the new Bond novel Carte Blanche? The author (Deaver) writes comic-book style: good story great bad guys, writes a great iconic good guy, plenty of cliffhangers and twist endings. I only read it because I heard a cool interview with him so I dont' know if he has big following but I can't imagine anyone declining an invite to be on the Teen Architect team!

Also, in your 5/13 Q&A you explained that FF was only 20 pages so that "Steve Epting could complete the launch issues"?
Has he had an opportunity to catch up yet? And if so, will FF be returning to 22 pages?

Hi lads, I always enjoy the column, but here's something that's puzzling me. In an interview this week (iFanboy's Don't Miss) Jason Aaron says 'point blank' that the thing everyone's worrying about in Prelude to Schism, the thing that's coming, isn't actually anything to do with the Schism storyline.
How does that happen? Schism and Prelude to Schism are from the same office, surely?
Really looking forward to Schism. I understand it is focused on Wolverine and Cyclops, but given their level of exposure amongst the X-Men already, can we expect to see some panel time for other popular characters like Gambit or Storm? It would be neat to see these two close friends (or others) discussing things outside of the Wolverine/Cyclops centerframe.
Is Deadpool Canadian or not? Does anyone know? Does he even know? His history's been alluded to plenty of times, sometimes conflicting. Is there a 'right' one?

Who's the creative team on the rumoured Iron Fist ongoing? Will they be on the FI panel at SDCC?

Marvel's "Big Shots" initiatve is still in it's earliest stages for the readers, so we're still in the dark as to how certain things are going to take place. As a reader I am used to certain groups of characters crossing over into books featuring related (or sometimes unrelated) characters. [I]How[/I] possible is it that there will be a "Big Shots"-centric crossover featuring a meeting up between Punisher, Moon Knight, and Daredevil? And, would this "event" take place in a one-shot or as a miniseries?
