I haven't read a lot of interviews / don't listen to podcasts, and don't know yet if I'll buy the new Batman Incorporated series.

But in thinking about it, there seem to be a few things about The International Club of Heroes that can't quite be the same in the DCnU.

For one thing, how recently in the DCnU would they have to have been formed if Batman and Robin (Dick) possibly inspired the individual members?

How much time passed between the meeting Batman and Dick attended and the meeting that Batman and Tim went to in The Black Glove storyline?

How old was Cyril as Squire when the International Club of Heroes first met, and when was his father later killed by Springheeled Jack? How old would Cyril be now as Knight?

If all these characters were, to some degree, influenced by Batman (and Dick as Robin), then it would seem the earliest the group would have first gathered is maybe four to four-and-a-half years ago (in DCnU time), and since Bruce and Tim were at the meeting in The Black Glove, that would have been at least a year ago, leaving a gap of about three-and-a-half years for the group's first meeting to the events in The Black Hood.

Does anyone know what's been said yet (if anything)? And will these heroes still be involved in the new Batman Incorporated?

Grew up a Batman fan - always loved him, but just now getting into the comic aspect of the character. I picked up Year One on a whim and have been an avid reader of comics ever since.

I started building and reading a collection of Batman graphic novels based on suggestions, online reviews, and resources like this forum. I find it odd that Grant Morrison's run is thought so highly of in this forum - yet the outside world doesn't seem to agree. A couple examples:

-Amazon.com user reviews: Aside from Arkham Asylum, you'll be hard pressed to find a 4+ star ranked Batman title from Morrison, and the reviews don't inspire me to jump in.

-Comic Shop suggestions: When asking for suggestions, I always seemed to be pleased. My local shops are great and have led me to my favorite stories (Hush, DKR, Long Halloween, et cetera); not once have has a Morrison collection been recommended to me.

Please forgive me if this has been done already - I am sure at one point it has. Also, I have not read any of Morrison's Batman, so I am in no way trolling. Just trying to push myself to jump into his run - it would be quite an investment, financially.

Thoughts?

I mean it does seem like that might have been the original intention in a way. His run felt like it was meant to put a stamp on the whole thing. REally would like to know how much GM was compromised by FInal Crisis and the NEW 52.

I never felt like any of the characters were in the least bit threatened by their talons, and there was really no reason at all for these issues to happen aside from the crossovers. I have not been a fan of The Owl story in Batman for a while, but I am beginning to think there will be some cool reveals in the core book. What were your feelings about the crossover in general?

Or maybe this comic simply defies rational explanation, coming as it does from the mind of a guy who pushes the Expanding Earth theory.
Whatever, it was actually very enjoyable because the whole thing read like one of the Joker's fever dreams.

So Batman Begins was inspired from 'Year One' and 'The Man who Falls'. TDK was inspired from 'The Killing Joke', 'The Long Halloween' and the Joker stories in Batman # 1. TDKR is inspired from 'No Man's Land', 'Knightfall' and 'The Dark Knight Returns'.

Given that borrowing from the comics has done Nolan a world of good, I expect that this trend will continue with the future reboots. So which Batman stories would you like to see them take a crack at it in future films.

Here are some which I feel could make great films somewhere down the line...

-'Dark Victory': Not a direct adaptation of course, but if a movie is doing the origin of Dick Grayson as Robin, this would be a great place to take cues from. One of the great things about this story is the way the Flying Grayson's death at the hands of Tony Zucco is tied into an overall arc about the Mob's last stand in Gotham in the wake of Batman and Gordon's crusade. So that way, Robin's origin can be tied into the central plot of the film without having to mess around with his origin by linking it to the main villain (ala Batman Forever).

-'Prey': Once rumored to be the inspiration for TDKR, this LOTDK arc would make for a great psychological thriller. Hugo Strange is the first major recurring Batman villain (who even pre-dates the Joker) and a fascinating character in many respects, so its only a matter of time IMO before he makes it to the big screen.

-'Strange Apparitions': Granted, Steve Englehart's run is not exactly one cohesive story arc, but I think aspects of this run could be used as elements in a film-especially the Bruce-Silver St. Fox romance (which already inspired the Bruce-Vicky romance in Burton's Batman), and the over-arching plot of Rupert Thorne trying to turn the city against Batman. Some of the individual battles with Joker, Penguin, Deadshot et all may also make for great cinematic moments.

-'Hush': This would make for a great detective story which also includes most of the prominent members of Batman's rogue's gallery. Its also a much simpler storyline than The Long Halloween, so it wouldn't be too difficult to translate to the screen.

-'Under the Hood': There's already been an animated DTV which did a great job with this rather long-winded arc, and I think that's the best way to go about this storyline. I think its highly unlikely Jason Todd's brief career as Robinn will ever get coverage in an entire film, so the best bet would be to flesh out the teenage Jason in flashbacks and then introduce him in the present of the story as Red Hood. The whole idea of Batman facing off against another costumed hero (albeit one who resorts to lethal force) isn't something we've really seen on screen so far, and there are definitely philosophical and moral implications to this plot which I think will make for a serious yet action-packed film. Plus, we get to see both Black Mask and Joker in major roles.

-'Batman and Son': Given that Damien seems like he's here to stay, I don't see why there should be a problem with bringing the current Robin to the big screen. Its a simple enough concept on the surface-Batman having to contend with his long-lost love child with Talia al Ghul! Of course the rest of the plot, involving Man-Bats and stuff may have to be modified, but otherwise, I think the story is fundamentally sound.
