Hey guys, is it some kind of sin to like Hilary Duff? I think she is a very talented lady.
I love that song "Wake Up", loved her show, and I LURVE her movies! I just bought "Most Wanted" for like $15-its actually quite fun & good!
I'd love to hear someone else say they are a closet Hilary fan!

Well she can certainly sing better than...Britney, though I fail to see how she's very talented. As a singer she's pretty much as faceless as every other teen pop idol in her vein, as is the music it's set to.
Though no, it isn't a sin to like her around her, at least compared to liking Avril Lavinge.
(Now make me happy and say you like Avril Lavinge so we can have a flame war...)

Hence the "..." before "Britney." It's pretty much damning with faint praise.

Hilary Duff is an antichrist! AN ANTICHRIST!!! Antichrist of modern music that is. I saw her lip-synch on the Tonight Show. She lip-synchs!!
Plus she covers The Who's 'My Generation' and changes the lyrics from "Hope I die before I get old" to "I hope I don't die before I get old" What is that shite?!

Well what's the bloody point of singing the song then if you are going to change the lyrics to make them more polite? The whole damn thing is an expression of youthful frustration and nihilism.

First off, Hillary Duff sucks.
Secondly, she is the loser of the teen it girls. Lindslo, Olsens, Hilton all think she's a loser.
Lastly, she is talentless. Everytime she does something it is laughable.

Hillary Duff is like Lindsay Lohan for me. I know they're both singers and actresses, but I've never seen any of their movies, and I would be hard pressed to even name one of their movies (wasn't one of them in some remake of "Herbie"?). I couldn't hum one of their tunes either, and that's saying a lot, because the radio station I work for would play just about anything.

Yeah. It was Lohan who did Herbie. Mind you I mostly remember that because I heard that Disney had digitally shrunk her breasts for the film. (This was pre-anorexic Lohan of course.)

Pre-anorexic? I didn't know she was anorexic. See, I could bump into her in the street and not recognize her face. She's just a non-entity for me. Both of them are.

Lindsey Lohan and Hillary Duff are just the modern-day version of those pop stars from the 50's and 60's that who did all kinds of movies and recorded all kinds of albums but no one remembers anymore, like whatsisface and the guy with the hair.
In twenty years they'll be signing autographs at car shows for people that have no idea who they are.
Lindsey especially. That's the hell you've damned youreself to by doing Herbie, so sorry.

Duff is so much better than Lohan especially since Lohan looks like that chick from A Nightmare Before Christmas these days. In the recent Vanity Fair she admitted to having drug and bulemia problems.
Now is as good of a time as any to admit that I really like that Mandy Moore song from the movie she had where she had cancer. The wifey rented that movie, it's a good song.

I used to date a Hilary Duff fan. She made me listen to a couple of songs. It wasn't at all painful to listen to Hilary Duff. She has a decent voice, and her music is so safe and bland that I was able to instantly forget it. I also watched a couple of episodes of Hilary's tv show, Lizzie-whatever, and it was fairly predictable and not very entertaining. Hilary herself is cute and likeable, but I predict that she will age badly and fade from popularity long before she hits 25.

That's disgusting. The new lyrics are completely antithetical to the sentiment of the song. I guess she's just hoping we don't notice?
Family values drain the fun out of everything. This sort of reminds me of when the Cookie Monster had that special episode about how cookies are a "sometimes" food. Apparently, the people at Sesame Street were under pressure from health advocates and the show caved in and turned Cookie Monster into a health nut. Now he's toothless both literally and figuratively. Family values show up and drain the joy out of something that's supposed to be about fun and rebellion.
And, yes, Cookie Monster is the muppet equivalent of early-60's era Pete Townshend.

I guess I just know some freaky people. One of my closest friends back in Indiana is a 48 year-old black man who owns a couple of New Kids on the Block CDs. He won't defend them as great or anything, he just says it's a guilty pleasure.
