Question about Darksied

Hypothetical scenario: If Darksied fired his Omega Effect at someone, but he was killed before it hit them, then would the beams disappear, or keep following their target?

I would assume that the Beams would continue.

That's actually a real good question, I wish I knew the answer.

Maybe because he is powered by the omega stuff he would let loose a whole lot of omega energy when he died and destroy New Genesis and Apokalips.

I think they'd die with him. No Darkseid, no Omega Beam.

Or you could look at the Omega Effect as a fired rifle. The death of the rifleman doesn't stop the bullet.

Good question, though. I have no idea what the official word would be on that one.
