Was Dumbledore's death more beneficial to the Order then to Voldemort? I believe the curse that killed his hand was never healed, just slowed down as i remember somebody saying but can't remember who that there are some curses for which there is no cure. Thusly i believe his death was staged to save Draco's life and keep Snape in favour

Dumbledore died?!?!??!?!?!?!
Just kidding. Seriously though, don't you think you might be spoiling something for those who haven't read Half-Blood Prince with that thread title...?

title should be lateST
title should be lateST
Heh. . based on Solaris' posts at the time she changed it?
I think that a bit of Alcohol may have caused the slightly different meaning. .
although, technically it IS the last Harry Potter book to have been published.
The main point is, since she changed the title, Mcgaffer's thread isn't a MAJOR spoiler that you can't avoid (Mcgaffer had the spoiler in the thread title)

Well, no, actually it wasn't in the thread title... but with it being in the very first sentence of the post, when you cursored the title on the main page, it showed up in the "sample" popup. That's why I added in all the periods: now the popup just shows periods. :)
No, bert, not that kind. ;)

maybe another Mod got to it before you then?
at the time I made my original post, the title of the thread was "Dumbledore's Death"
I'd call that a pretty major spoiler. . since I knew exactly what was being discussed despite avioiding spoilers on the Half Blood prince since it was published during San Diego Comicon!

Howdy all. This is my 1st post here, so be gentle.
I think that his death will be more beneficial to Voldemort than the Order of the Pheonix. Dumbledor was the only one LV was afraid of, and now that he is out of the way, nothing will stop him from trying to take over completely. He will have little fear of any other wizard, at least not like he had with DD.

there's another thread where this is discussed...

but yeah. Dumbledore let himself be killed. He wouldn't have done that if there wasn't a really good reason. So I think his death will end up benefitting the Order when it matters the most.
