I read in another thread that she's either dead or going to die, I couldn't tell if it has already happened or not.
Is this true?

The cover of #73 suggests that she will in fact die...

All we really know for sure at the moment is that her book is being cancelled.

There is also the fact that she is the only Bat family character that DC didn't have plans for OYL event

Unless she's Batwoman.

As the good Captain stated, that thread is speculation and nothing more. She has not died yet. DC has not stated that she will die. A comic in which she died has not come out. The only thing we know for certain is that the Batgirl comic is being canceled.

In #72, the next issue preview said someone was gonna die in a fight between Cassie and someone.
So...between that and the cover of #73, is it to obvious to believe she will die?

That's just what they want us to believe.

I won't be surprised at anything they throw at me...
One option is too obvious to believe...almost to the point that ey are selling it too hard.
Or...
The other is they are doing exactly what they say they're gonna do.

I hope Cassie isnt killed off. She's probably my favourite member of the Bat family after Catwoman.

Too obvious or not, it's still speculation. :)

Just to throw a little more fuel on the fire . . .
Here is what DC's February Solicitations said about #73:
Life and death maintain a tenuous balance at the edge of the Lazarus Pit. A major character has died. Now a battle must be fought between two old foes…and only one will survive. We're not giving away any secrets, except to say that this is the end of Batgirl!
Now, "end of Batgirl" does not necessarily mean "the death of Cassandra Cain." But it could be interpreted that way, obviously. (Seems so obvious that it's hard to take at face value, but maybe that's what they want us to think?)
On the other hand, a while back I saw someone else react to that solicitation by drawing a parallel with something that happened about twenty years ago during John Byrne's long run on the Fantastic Four. Apparently the teaser at the end of one issue said something to the effect that the next issue would be the last we'd ever see of the Invisible Girl (or some similar wording).
It turned out that what that meant was that in the next issue, she officially changed her superhero alias to the Invisible Woman! :)
Despite which, I personally don't think Cassandra will become the new Batwoman. I like the idea, but I don't think DC is pushing things in that direction. On the bright side, as Jason Todd has recently proved, just because Cassandra may die in #73 doesn't mean she'll be under any obligation to stay dead indefinitely.

Indeed true.
I realllllllllllllllly hope it doesn't happen but...I'm a lil extra skeptical about this because all "expendable" characters (below B+ level) have all been on the chopping block for over 6 monthes now...

Not only would it be a waste of a good character, but the six-year-old mysteries about her will not be answered if she is dead. Then again, most OYL changes appear aimed at driving away existing fans in exchange for new ones (and those not on the internet ;) ), so maybe that's exactly what is in store.
Anyone else fed up with the coy way OYL is being handled?
