True, but I was leery of doing that because Dan Didio kind of teased about it, toying with the words "end of run" etc...so I am not sure if they will renumber? Or rename?
I am very confused.

Same thing with JLA, though. I'd just put it, for the moment, as being cancelled.

It's still gonna be published. The title tells different stories in continuity so it doesn't really matter. We're about to start a Gail Simone arc that takes place before Countdown.

I'm glad the writer is back to his original character.....and even happier he's going to write the next chapter in his life!

Batwoman was only rumour until the character was revealed as appearing in 52, according to the Wizard article. No idea if or when she gets her own title.
But Manhunter is an ongoing title with no changes, (apart from storyline).

Judging by your list of Super-Hero Books.
Since Manhunter has ties with Identity Crisis, O.M.A.C. Project, and Villians Untied. It wouldn't be left out in the mix.
Plus March Solicits (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=6310) basically says it in the solicits. Like it did for Firestorm and the rest.

Batwoman (http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0510/16/index.htm) was announced on October 16, 2005, but no news of Creative Teams or if the statement has been retracted.
I've looked at that page before, but I'm not nearly so sure as you are that this constituted anything resembling an Official Announcement.
All that page of comic book "news" says on the subject is one short sentence:
* DC Comics will launch a Batwoman title next year.
But it doesn't give any source for that information.
Which is interesting, because the tidbit immediately above that Batwoman line is a piece of news which explicitly claims to come from an interview with artist Casey Jones. And the tidbit immediately below that "Batwoman" information claims to be an announcement by Dynamite Entertainment. But the Batwoman tidbit is totally sourceless - just a sentence that pops up out of nowhere without any visible means of support.
Although I want this to be true about a new Batwoman title, I suspect that tidbit may have simply been a case of someone parroting the rumor that Rich Johnston had started a few weeks earlier in one of his LITG columns (http://www.comicbookresources.com/columns/index.cgi?column=litg&article=2258) right here on CBR.

Yes, I read the LITG Rumour when it first came out. That site I listed, unfortunately, seems to be the only one on the net saying that about a Batwoman Title. When it broke it didn't stop fans speculating on who will be the Batwoman in YABS Thread (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=86189&highlight=Batwoman+Title+Confirmed). I can only go by whats listed, it's not like I'm making any of this up. Actually, I read just about every thread in every forum on CBR.
I could debate about Batman Legends of the Dark Knight (which follows it's own continuity mostly, and no mention so far as to how it ties into One Year Later) and JLA Classified (follows its own Continuity) being on that One Year Later list. If you include them you need to include All Star Batman, All Star Superman, for next year. Along with Non Powered DCU stars like The Warlord, Jonah Hex, Sgt Rock(which are set in their own timelines).
Blood of the Demon is also another One Year Later book according to March's Solicits. It's a book I no longer read. I quit at Issue 6. So I have no clue to what is happening in that book.
BLOOD OF THE DEMON #13
Written by John Byrne & Will Pfeifer
Art by Byrne & Dan Green
Cover by Byrne
It's One Year Later…and two Etrigans are battling the Lord of the Damned!
On sale March 1 o 32 pg, FC, $2.50 US.
And this News which I seen on Death Spiral thread.
Even more Infinite Crisis details revealed.
(Copy and pasted, don't blame me).
----
DC Comics jumps ahead "One Year Later" in March- Here are 22 books to keep your eye on
The Flash
DC holds to a firm "no comment" when it comes to the future of the Fastest Man Alive.
Specture: Dead Again
A new Spectre rises in this three-issue mini-series by Pfeifer and artist Al Barrionuevo (Gotham Knights), but he's not the most willing Spirt of Vengeance. "He barely believes in the afterlife and wants no part of the Spectre's concept of Divine Justice," says Pfeifer. "Too bad he has no choice in the matter."
Wonder Woman
While hot-babe uber-artist Terry Dodson (Spider-Man/Black Cat) has been confirmed as being part of the amazing Amazon's post-Infinite Crisis plans, DC has yet to release and information on either the writer or direction of the book. But the publisher promises both announcements will make major waves, so stay turned.
Concerning Wonder Woman, Flash, and a Spectre Mini.

Blood of the Demon is still around, at least in March. Doom Patrol I do not see listed. So perhaps it is gone? I wish I could be of more help. The solicits for Teen Titans mention the DP though so maybe they will appear there?!

I am wrong---
mcguiness and vines are only doing the cover. the artist is kerschl
what happened is that for that comic, they listed the cover artist(s) first, then the interior artist second--they didn't do that for they other year later stories (took it out of previews.)
btw--the cover looks pretty cool.
(this is right out of 'previews' for the march 22 release of robin 148 --the apparent first 'one year later' issue.--page 67)

Beechen is the new writer. And Scott McDaniel's moving over to GREEN ARROW. Karl Kerschl, currently on ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN, is taking over art for ROBIN.

other titles that I forgot:
jsa classified moore (stuart)/gulacy/palmiotti
I am unclear what jla classified is going to do--right now , they are lagging way behind continuity (still with no hal jordan, etc. ) so I think that the jla classified in previews is actually lagging also--i.e. not a 'year later' story
also, I know that shadow pact will start up and I'm sure I saw it in previews. it is willingham writer obviously. but I can't find the artist.
likewise--checkmate--what is up with this?
strange and mysterious missing titles--flash and wonderwoman. hm. I really strongly suspect they are going to change the most. like a new flash and a new wonderwoman?
one more--batman: legends of the darkknight -- is not listed as 'one year later' so.. not sure

Why are they cancelling Superman and renaming Adventures of Superman "Superman"? It doesn't make much sense to me.
Originally there was superman and action comics : they are simply going back to the original numbering, which is fine with me.

Two questions.
How does the list look now? Did I get the creators right? Let me know if I didn't, as I said, I am very bad with names. :)
Second...does Legends of the DK skip one year forward? I thought it told stories from any time about Batman...

Wait -
DC can't cancel Wonder Woman! And not because I like the title. Legally, they can't.
According to the contract made with Charles Moulton Marston, if DC ever stops publishing a comic named "Wonder Woman" all rights to the character immediately revert back to his heirs.
I doubt DC would want to lose a money maker like WW.

I don't think anyone is saying ww is cancelled-dc just has detailed what is happening to it. i.e. relaunch? different woman as ww? on a different earth maybe? I think they are keeping flash and ww secret (and jla along with them) to hide some suprise
batman: lotdk--the previews spot on it looks alot like the jla classified--somewhat nebulous and clearly not involved in 'one year later' stories
also--vines is not a regular interior artist on robin--I had that wrong. just kerschl

No doubt there'll be a revamp/retitle/something in the works. As for not being able to stop publishing her, I believe that used to be the case, but is no longer as DC bought the rights to her in total? Someone will have to correct me if I am mistaken.

Any more info on the Ron Marz Kyle Rayner Green Lantern? I'm interested to see if they come up with a better Ion design for Kyle because quite frankly that first one blew chunks.
Plus I think it's good for him to get out of the shadow of the whole GL Hal thing and be a powerful hero in his own right.

Well, according to Wikipedia, that contract is still in effect. I can't find anything that says differently anywhere.
Wikipedia is incorrect on this one. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it's the most common comicbook urban legend cited online. It was true at one time but DC bit the rights to her outright and are no longer beholden to the previous arrangement. This has been confirmed by several pros for years now, most notably Kurt Busiek.

otherwise, why, in march, is there not Flash, WW or JLA solicited?

Geez, that couldn't have gone more a way I didn't want. I'm totally against solidly connecting the Legion to our century. I never wanted Kara to come back in the first place, and really hate this new teen idol version.
Not that I'll drop the series because of it, but that title's just going to make me go "Grrrrr..." every time I see it.

I think there might be some misleading stuff in this thread, beause I know that while the flash ends with the next issue it relaunches a few months later at number one. So technically its not being cancelled just relaunched after a short hiatus. I pulled that information right out of either the actual issue or the back page of todays flash so I know its true.

No more Batgirl? CRUD! Is DC going to refund my mail order subscription?
Usually, when something like this happens, the company will either give you the option of receiving another book or return your money.
They're not being cancelled for sales reasons. Later in the year, DC plans to launch "Batman: Confidential" and "Superman: Confidential" series, with rotating creative teams like the Classified books. And rather than add two more monthlies, they cancelled two to make room.
For some reason, Paul closed the thread on the DC board instead of merging it into this one. But I wanted to respond to Loren's post anyway.
I don't think DC has confirmed those two "Confidential" books. So far, they're just Lying in the Gutters rumors at this point. Just FYI.

I here there is a mini in the works that won't be 'in continuity'That's true, but don't let the "not in continuity" part scare you off. It's going to be a great, pure Captain Marvel story. It's going to be full of action and fun and mosters. Yay!

Does Wonder Woman even sell that many comics? Outside merchendising and the iconic thing, theres no other reason to give her a monthly when so many great titles had to be cut (ONLY 2 SUPERMAN TITLES!?).

I couldn't find the thread about Outsiders' first OYL cover so I'm just putting it up here.

That's everyone revealed except for one. I've heard it's a doozy. Then again, how many here are actually reading this book? Everyone on the three Titans covers coming is still in shadows except for one person on each. That was staying a secret unless someone knows otherwise.

Hang on......I think Judd himself said one of the new Outsiders would be "a doozy".
And that guy seems to be wearing a neckerchief of some kind.......
Holy crap! I think that's the new Captain Boomerang!

Does Thunder have Lightning powers now?

Where has that been confirmed? Maybe that doozy member is not on this cover...
Article at Newsarama (http://www.newsarama.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=60372)
New DC titles:
The All-New Atom ongoing - by Gail Simone and Trevor Scott
Creeper mini – by Steve Niles and Justiniano
Martian Manhunter mini – by A.J. Lieberman and Al Barrionuevo
OMAC mini – by Bruce Jones and Renato Guedes
The Trials of Shazam! 12-issue maxi-series – by Judd Winick and Howard Porter
Uncle Sam & The Freedom Fighters mini – by Jimmy Palmiotti, Justin Gray and Daniel Acuna
I'm very interested in Atom, Creeper and Freedom Fighters. I'm interested, but wary of Winick's Shazam!
I probably won't get OMAC. It just seems like an attempt to cash-in on their popularity without much substance.
And I was very disappointed with Martian Manhunter. I think Lieberman is a horrible writer and I'm not thrilled that he'll be writing one of DC's coolest characters.

I'll get Creeper and maybe Freedom Fighters.
Atom might be good, given Gail as the writer, but nah, who cares.
The rest all sound pointless.
Cay
And, y'know, I kind of like the idea of this Brave New World 80-Page one-shot being used to introduce these new series. I imagine a lot of people will get Brave New World because it's $1 and to check out the new books. Good idea for promotion.
I wish Manhunter and other great, underselling books would've had something like that.

I'm pretty meh about them all. Will most likely try the New Atom though if it comes out on a light week. But does Winnick really need to be writing more DCU books? I've never enjoyed any thing he's done besides Barry Ween.

I'll check out Brave New World for $1. Plus the only 2 titles that has any interest for me is the The All-New Atom and Freedom Fighters. Having the awesome Hawkman team on that just makes me smile. :D

I'll be picking up Brave New World, but I probably won't pick up any of the other titles. I've recently added a few new titles, and with the prices going up to $3.00, I don't think I can afford any more comics.
Is anyone else surprised that there was no mention of a new Batwoman title? Maybe that was only a rumor after all.

That surprised me, Winick hasn't really shown much inspiration with the Marvel characters. I was unimpressed with First Thunder and his Action issues.

Creeper ..... Jack Ryder, kinda like the Joker, Creeper?
The only one I have the slightest interest in is The Atom and even then I'll flip through the first issue before I buy it.
Maleficentogre

not like joker. not at all. creeper is remotely sane, and is generally a good guy. a good guy that unlike joker doesn't make an apperance every other issue of every comic.

So, are they bringing them back from the dead (please!) or are they creating a new Freedom Fighters? Oh, I miss the Human Bomb. Rest in piece, Mr. Lincoln...
First glance I thought "So they're killing characters and books I like for a bunch of junk I have no intention of buying." Second glance I thought "Oh, Gail's writing Atom. Never did give a fiddler's fart for him, but I'll try it."

Winnick and Shazam? No thanks -- I was so unimpressed with the Superman/Captain Marvel mini. Can't believe they are handing the big red cheese over to him for another series.
Atom? Really? I don't know. I guess this may be a brand new character. Gail does good work, so I'll give it a try.
Saw a preview of Justinano's work on Creeper at this site -- and loved it! Should be cool.
Never liked Martian Manhunter. This could be pencilled by Jim Lee and painted by Alex Ross, and I still would not care.
Uncle Sam and a new Freedom Figthers sounds very promising.
And Omac. Are they bringing back the Kirby Omac? I'm really not interested in the life of a DC mandroid from Infinite Crisis. If it's the fomer, I'll give it a try, otherwise, no.

Some "judging the books before there's even a cover" thoughts...
The All-New Atom - I swear to God, sometimes I think DC is intentionally putting the charming Miss Simone on certain projects to tamp down their more controversial aspects with her boundless wit and sagacity. Byrne's Action. Liefeld's Titans. A Ray Palmer-less Atom. I wouldn't be surpised if she turned up as the writer on Dave Sim's first ever DC title... sigh... of course, I'll buy it. It'll probably be good, too. Rats :)
Omac - Dreadfully uninterested, but if they start injecting Kirbian influences into the title, I'm there.
Shazam - Something about Captain Marvel seems to bring out the Good Judd, imho. I'm in.
Creeper - The proposed take on Ryder's character sounds intriguing. Count me in.
Martian Manhunter - Mr. Lieberman has done zip, zilch, nada, to give me any confidence that this title won't be a character/continuity/storytelling train wreck. He gets one issue to thrill me.
Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters - I personally think that Uncle Sam is one of the most fascinating, underexplored characters in the DCU. Further, I believe that all kinds of absolutely wonderfully keen things can be done with both the legacies of the various Quality Comics characters AND the reason d'etre of the Freedom Fighters as a group. Which is all a longwinded way of saying "this book better be at least as good as the one that I'm reading in my head." Horribly unfair and fanboyish of me, I know, but sometimes that's the way the Freedom Fries crumble...
Uncle Sam rocks,
Mike.

I'll check out most of these. I like that DC is launching most as miniseries first. It's a good way to test the waters and see what fans might be interested in. Also, the Brave New World book is a good idea.
How about thinking "So they're killing off characters and books I like for new characters and books I have no knowledge of" instead? It's quite a bit less judgemental and negative.
How about not? I'm judgemental and negative because I have a good memory. I remember the books that were "spun off" off of Crisis.
They sucked. Sure the reboots were good, often very good. But those were reboots of existing books, so I honestly don't count them. Honestly there'd be no excuse for doing the post-crisis Superman origina badly.
I remember the books that were "spun off" off of Invasion.
They sucked.
I remember the books that were spun off of Bloodlines.
Well, Hitman was funny, some of the time. The rest sucked. Anima? Whatever.
I remember the books that were "spun off" off of Zero Hour.
You'll never believe this, but they sucked. Well, okay, Starman was wicked good, but Fate and Manhunter were just painful.
Any time DC rushes to release a bunch of new titles after a big even, I cringe. In this case I see one creator I care for, and no characters I care for. If I'm negative it's because it's a pavlovian style learned reflex.

I don't see a reason for me not to believe you think those books sucked, but these are all different times and creators. I personally like everyone involved with the Blue Beetle book and will give it a shot before condemning it. It may suck, but I don't know yet and admit that. I understand the whole "I've been burned before" sentiment. Like you said though, Starman was great so you never can tell where good books will come from until they're actually here.

I agree - I like the sound of most of the new series announced (not sure on OMAC - they are my least favourite part of the whole crisis thing) and will probably give them a shot (what's that - ahhh it's just my bank account weeping in the corner) and if we only end up with one title as good as Starman I will be pleased.
I have been collecting comics for twenty years and have tried some amazingly terrible new series but every now and again you find a Starman or a Preacher or a Manhunter etc.
Only thing I am not a fan of is that all the mini's seem to be quite long - whatever happend to the four issue mini series.

Thanks God there brining Uncle Sam back! Anyone else notice his body was never found among the dead FFs?
Being a mostly Marvel reader I am using this 1 year forward to add some new titles to my pull list (plus I got a raise, what else to do but buy comics :p )
So I just wanted to ask what books do you guys recommend? And I know none of these books have started, so use your best judgement. What creative teams and concepts do you like? What will you be picking up or adding to your pull list? Any ideas would be appreciated. (I apoligize if this was already talked about in this topic, I did not read all the pages) Keep in mind I have no idea what the heck Infinite Crisis is or why the books are moving "1 year" ahead....I do want to read a Superman title, so I will be picking one up, which one?
