Do we? Any idea what it'll be about?

Hopefully, it'll be a good jumping on point for new readers. All the DC books should be with the One Year Later jump, but then again Infinite Khry-sis will still be in effect.

DC's been so dense lately, but their March solits look a lot more interesting than Marvel's. Hell, even Supergirl looks like its gonna be cool.

Given the solicits, it looks like Superman retired or something.

Other than mere speculation, we know absolutely nothing about the Johns/Busiek arc.

Some dude in a cape, I think.

Perhaps Mr. Busiek could chime in?

Please please please? Something, anything?

Kurt, you and Geoff on Superman is something I've hoped for for years. Two of my favorite writers working on one of my favorite superheroes.

Thanks, Spidey

I already tried on another thread. He only said that Jimmy's in it.

Most intriguing, actually. And looking forward VERY MUCH to this.

Kurt is like Beetlejuice.

You have to say his name 3 times. :D

*LOL*

I'd try. But I'm betting we'll know something about this arc later.

I have read rumors that Superman will somehow lose his powers during the IC series, which is why only Clark Kent is featured on the covers. That is just a rumor and has not been confirm.

Hmmm... The idea of Big Blue losing his powers is something that has been used too much in the past, becoming boring and even annoying. But since it's Busiek and Johns, I wouldn't care if this happens to be true. I'd still get the whole thing. And it's a given that Superman would get his powers back in the end.

I read the interview, and while the prospect of revamped villains is an interesting one, it still doesn't tell me if Superman will be battling them, or which one it is. i need more to go on before i'm sold.

So they pretty much told us nothing that we couldn't have figured out from the solicits? Wow, what a great interview...

Not all of us read the solicits! ;)

And they already told you that they cannot reveal more because of events that will be happening in Infinity crisis.

Meh, there's another interview at Silver Bullet Comics, titled "I can't tell you!"

So, you know what to expect from that interview...

The guys just left me with even more questions (and obviously that's what they want)...

We are fiends that way. Plus, we're not allowed to tell.

I've never actually worked on a project that I've been able to say so little about. I mean, I could say how THUNDERBOLT started, at least, give you the whole cover story as song and dance, and just hold back the twist.

Here, though, there are so many questions and we want the answers to come in the comics...

I like that. Too often, greedy fans get what they want and stories are revealed before the comics, or any other forms of entertainment, come out. I want to know what characters will appear in the book. I may want to know what kind of challenges the characters will face. Some teasing art is always good. What I don't want to know is everything that goes on in the comics. What would be the point in reading the book then? Sure, the journey is as entertaining, if not much more, than the end result, but doesn't that get ruined many times when everything else about the book is revealed too? Such and such dies or other big moments are often not as important as the path that lead to the moment or away from it, but sometimes, in most good works, that big moment is part of the path. It can lessen the impact of a story if any parts of that path are revealed.

With all that said.... it's important that we only see Clark on the covers, isn't it? Teases are fine, Kurt.

Teases are fine, Kurt.

Oh, so you say! But I answer to Matt Idelson and Dan Didio, and their wrath is terrible to behold!

We've teased plenty, actually. Doesn't mean we'll tease everything...

Hey, you're the one who signed that exclusive contract so you have nobody to blame but yourself should you ever have to suffer the wrath of DC editorial. :p

Ok, I have a question for you then that relates to one of the teases.

Why Toyman? What's the appeal that keeps drawing creators back to this character? Why do you think he keeps getting remade? The version seen on the one of the covers looks like it comes from the Superman animated series. Intentional?

That's obviously more than just a question. Idleson and Didio will just have to look the other way though.

I dunno. Toyman is one of those characters that I would have dismissed, but Geoff came up with a great new approach that had me spitballing ideas as soon as I heard it. I wouldn't have come up with it myself, but now I'm eager to see multiple Toyman stories.

Don't know. I didn't know about the animated Toyman until someone flagged the resemblance, so I looked him up.

Not the same concept, though, by any means.

Well, it has me trying the Superman titles again. I look at it as a good jump on point, so I'm going to give it a shot.

That was to be expected, Kurt. I was just commenting on it.

And I'm sure this will be awesome. I'm trusting you both with nothing less than the King Of Superheroes. He deserves the greatest stories possible.

BTW, I like to be surprised. and since I know there will be surprises (good ones), I think it's better this way. I wouldn't care if you said anything about a top secret story about, say, X-Men or Batman. But this is Superman, and surprises are good, if not absolutely great.

EDIT: and this is something (surprises and stuff) you guys can handle absolutely.
