I recently heard in the movie that Superman is going back to krypton! Some guy explained on IMDB board that though the planet did indeed explode that doesnt mean that the entire thing was destoyed.Im wonder if in ANY of the comics is there anything left of krypton?(excluding the krypton in the phantom zone of course!) and anyone know if this movie for the most part is gonna do the comic books justice?thanks in advance anyone

IIRC in the John Byrne era (or maybe just after he left) Superman went back to where Krypton was and the debris was still there looking like a complete planet, but when he got closer it was a clump of asteroids

Anf of course there is Kandor and Argo City. Though I doubt they'll do that.

Maybe, using an old Silver Age idea, Superman will merely fly into space to overpass light from Krypton and "see" how it once was.

I'm more worried about the gay innuendo between Superman and Lex Luthor.

There have been chunks of Krypton that survived in the comics. One was stolen before Krypton blew up. The other survived briefly in a dome.

I doubt we'll see this in the movie since Superman compares Krypton to a graveyard in some of the movie footage that's been released.

Maybe he'll find an intact building. I don't think we'll likely see any other survivors in this film though... Except maybe some reference to Zod.

The screen will be too crowded with Brandon Routh's enormous penis bulge :)

Not that many remember but in the awful "Supergirl" flick they explain her cousin's absence by him being away in deep space on some kind of mission.
Perhaps a clever reference to that train wreck of a flick will be made.
Wasn't that floating planetoid or whatvere it was in Superman/Aliens a piece of Krypton?

When I was a kid, the scene where she is drowning in that tar-like stuff always freaked the hell out of me.

As far as I know, Superman is returning to the remnants of Krypton. There might be huge chunks of the planets floating in space, but nothing else.

And I'm pretty positive in the fact that this movie will do the comic books justice.

After all, The King deserves it.

IIRC, it wasn't. It was just a deliberate nod to Supergirls origin using a similar planet

That would be funny.
Perry White: "What are you moping about, Olsen? Superman's finally back!"
Jimmy Olsen: "I was kind of hoping it would be the cute blonde chick..."
