This still doesn't explain how he survived. I like Apocalypse, and I understand as a comic book fan characters die and almost always come back, and the best explanation is not always necessary. But I want at least some explaination of how he survived.

I'd like to have the explaination be that everyone Wanda brought back to life in her paradise world is still alive in the regular world. Therefore not only is Appocalypse alive, Hawkeye alive, but everyone else who shouldn't have been killed off like Synch is alive too.

Then there's the possibility of a future story covering all these ressurections and the return of Generation X.

Seriously, Apocalypse is a long-lived mutant and given how Cable apparently killed a psychic ember of the character using his Psimitar I don't see it being too difficult. The smart thing to do would be have Apocalypse return back to a body buried in Egypt, possibly even say it was his original body or a previous host.

It would have been a good start, given that it would be nice to have Mastermind, Pyro, Doug and Illyana back. Synch they could have left dead, because he got blown up in HoM just before the world was restored. But for the most part it seems that the only ones who escaped returning to the grave on the return to normality is Proteus, who fled the altered reality before he could be restored to dead, and maybe Illyana who was possibly teleporting into limbo when the world went white.
