A number of changes seem to be suggested in the new covers. Here is a summery of what seems to be happening. Feel free to discuss them further in this thread.
1) Jason Todd is the new Nightwing.
2) Robin has a new outfit and is somehow related to murders occuring in Gotham.
3) Batman is going to do something that will effect his relationship with Robin. In one of the comics we even see Batman about to stab Robin in the back!
Anything I missed out? Any thoughts?

Number three I take issue with. It's not Batman. I believe you're talking about the Robin's new costume cover? I don't know WHO it is, but it's NOT Batman.
Too skinny.

I think it's Cass. For some reason I have a feeling she is one of the heroes that DC says will become a villain OYL. All that stuff going on in her book right now with Nyssa and R'as Al Ghul's League of Assassins will probably be a factor in her change. I think that would suck because I like the character a lot as she is right now, but as long as she doesn't get killed off and whatever role she plays isn't just beyond retarded I won't be too mad.

So you think that Lady Shiva's little "test" will turn Cass away from being Batgirl. I don't know, she seems pretty feverent about following Batman's ethics.

What about Catwoman? Catwoman is now a blonde who may or may not be Selina Kyle and something about the addition of a cast member you never expected?
Wizard hinted that during this whole one year later thing someone would end up with a child - did someone ger Selina pregnant during the dark time?

Well, Batman did spend the night(okay, not the whole night) with her in her own book. Maybe, she is having Bruce's child or maybe with all this Earth-2 mess, it might be another Catwoman?

I know, but who knows what could happen in that one year gap, a person's personal beliefs can change within a years time. I am hoping that she becomes a regular cast member of BoP or better yet is this new Batwoman that will show up after IC, but judging by that cover I would bet that it's her standing behind Robin with that knife. I mean who knows, OYL she could be trying to carry out Ra's Al Ghul's vision. Anything better than her getting killed off pointlessly in her own book and making me feel like a moron for spending cash on the comic.

I don't think that he necessarily survived it. But that he died, Ra's Al Ghul intercepted his body, and then put him in a Lazuras Pit.
That's how I'd like it to go.

Hopefully that's it. That makes the most sense of any explanation.
That is the most logical thing that could have happened. But I think there are a few details that Winick will either have to a)ignore or b)explain verrrrrrrry carefully.

Really? Because a lot of people (especially at the time it was published) think "A Death in the Family" was a pointless, tasteless grab at sales. First DC has gone too far by killing Jason Todd, and now they've gone too far by letting him live. Damned if they do and damned if they don't.
1HELLBOY - Your explanation is probably the best and I have a feeling it's the one they'll go with. Especially since Ra's Al Ghul has always had a relationship with Batman and his sidekicks that other rogues have not.

1) There's no question it was a sales boost attempt. The proof is that they had fan interaction. What irks me about it that it is just about the one death (aside from his parents) that has affected Bruce more than anyone else and thus doing so his effect on the story would be felt more dead than alive.
His death in A Death in the Family has been lessened now. Dunno why I feel that way. I just do. Just something about the way Winick has chosen to write him.
Maybe I'm odd that way.
2) I think Nyssa could have been the one as well because she was alive (but not a major player at that time) so that could be a way to interject Nyssa into past DCU continuity.

Here's what we know for sure about Jason:
1. When he faced Bruce in HUSH he quoted a line said in DITF, so it has to either be the original Jason or a Jason from another world in which he survived. (Although I thought all the other worlds were destroyed after COIE).
2. His missing body didn't seem to have anything to do with the main plot of HUSH so it's possible that someone else took his body for other reasons
3. Jason is better than he used to be before he died, so he must have had some kind of training
4. He knows Batman's routines, so this has to be the same Jason that Bruce trained.
5. Raven said that the door between life and death has been breached, but I don't think it's likely that he came back to life because like I said, he had to have been trained somehow.
6. There's evidence that there was no body in the coffin to begin with.
My guess? E2 Superman, in an attempt to undo the darkness of the DCU, changed history so that Jason could have survived, but maybe something happened to him where he had amnesia or something. He contnued training and fighting crime until now when everything had been thrown off balance, he rememberd what happened and decided to get revenge on Bruce because he felt that he had forgotten him. He dressed as the Red Hood because of the symbolism it has for the Joker and because the Joker killed him.

Or, in that scenario, the innate 'darkness' of this earth to which Kal-L referred to combined with the trauma of being resurrected and remembering the ebat down turned Jason into a warper version of his former self. How cool would it be if, in fact, he was not so much the creation of Joker but rather the creation of Earth-2 Supes. That may very well drive an already beyond paranoid Batman right over the edge.

Even if you consider Jason Todd's death a mistake, two wrongs don't add up to a right. And of all the kinds of characters in comicdom, Batcharacters are the ones who feel the most wrong when they are brought back from the dead.
